This smaller-displacement model is part of Yamaha’s “Masters of Torque” lineup, and it has the same 321cc parallel twin motor used in the YZF-R3 supersport model. The MT-03 takes after its larger siblings in other ways, too, with taller handlebars, bar-mounted mirrors, and LED lighting, as well as unique bodywork that includes a wide-shouldered fuel tank with lightweight air scoops. It’s all made to fit into a compact package that’s lean and mean — as satisfying to lean into the corners as it is to project that mean look on the street.

The pros in our Service Department gave this machine a thorough mechanical and safety exam, and then a full treatment to put it into prime shape for your story to begin. They gave it an engine oil and filter change, brake fluid change, a NEW BATTERY, and inflated the tires with nitrogen to maximize wear and performance characteristics. Those tires, incidentally, are almost new with 90+% of their tread left. Of course, any necessary adjustments were made to all control and performance attributes to assure complete safety and reliability. Then, an extended test ride and passing the tough Maryland Safety Inspection capped off the service preparations.
A first look at the cosmetic condition of this MT-03 leaves you with only positive impressions. It has obviously been ridden, but also apparently well cared for by its two previous owners. There are no glaring issues. A closer examination reveals only minor evidence of typical use such as gentle tip-over scratches on the edges of the mirrors, radiator guard, the clutch cover and the frame slider on the left side; none of it is serious. Its most noticeable blemishes are a scuff on the black-painted portion of the muffler, and a tiny tear in the cover of the passenger seat. Even these flaws are negligible. In the final analysis, this bike looks super, and you will feel proud to own it, and prouder to RIDE it!
This Yamaha MT-03 comes with two keys plus luggage keys, the original owner’s books and tool kit. This one is SO much bike for the money, it’s bound to disappear quickly. Don’t hesitate or you might be too late!
