The GT differs from the R model in these ways: there’s a fairing and screen, semi-active electronic suspension, a larger 6-gallon fuel tank, a longer rear sub-frame and lowered rear foot pegs for passenger comfort, a slightly re-tuned engine, and cruise control. It’s also got a full array of electronics, including semi-active WP suspension, a stability control package (including lean-sensitive ABS), and a quick-shifter. To finish off the Super Duke GT’s transition to more civilized behavior, it also gets an adjustable windshield, six-gallon tank to make longer rides more pleasurable. And for those overnight (or week-long) sporting excursions, this one is equipped with spacious, aerodynamically shaped side cases and a large top case — all color matched and quick-detachable. The GT is an undiluted Super Duke R. It produces the same peak power, but at 1000 rpm earlier, and the same torque, but delivery is spread over a wider range. The ride is as gentle as you need it to be, but if you want to unleash “The Beast” (as KTM calls it), at the twist of the throttle in pretty much any gear the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT will be as aggressive as you’d ever want. We’ll confess, our Service Technicians had a mighty good time test riding this bike to be absolutely sure it delivered peak performance. Big smiles all around! Naturally, due diligence was done in all aspects of examining and evaluating each component and function of this machine for safety and mechanical integrity. Not much needed to be done, in fact. The bike had always been well cared for and had been recently fully serviced by a KTM dealer. There it also received NEW TIRES, which retain 95% of their tread left to give. We went the “extra mile” by filling them with nitrogen; and that will help YOU go some extra miles. Its fluids are fresh, chain serviced, everything is tight and right. Frankly, this bike runs amazingly well, and if you want verification, just ask one of our mechanics who was lucky enough to test ride it. Better yet, test ride it for yourself to find out! Naturally, the bike has passed official Maryland Safety Inspection and been detailed to glimmering perfection. If you look very hard you might spot a couple of very minor scuffs on the saddlebag lids. They’re almost invisible. This bike actually looks NEW!
