These days, you could say that some extra strength medicine is called for. Well, here is just what the doctor ordered: a super clean 2016 BMW K1300S in Sapphire Black Metallic. The 1,293 cc four-cylinder engine produces 175 HP and 103 ft-lbs of torque. The K1300S can move you quickly up to 125 mph! It will deliver almost all the capabilities of a true sport bike if you choose to ride it like one. At the same time, though, its Duolever front- and Paralever rear-suspension combined with the ABS part-integral braking system, the range of a 5 gallon fuel tank, and the comfort of a less aggressive riding position, give it the performance and safety characteristics of a touring bike. Altogether this machine is a true Sport Tourer with an emphasis on sport. Take it out for an all-day romp through some twisty back roads and you’ll discover what it means to have the best of both worlds.
In addition to all the good stuff that’s standard on the K1300S, BMW built this one with some great factory options too. You’ll enjoy Gear Shift Assist (quick shifter), ASC (Automatic Stability Control), ESA II (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), On Board Computer, TPM (Tire Pressure Monitoring), and Heated Grips. As is, this bike is equipped to perfectly suit your “mobile quarantine” status. But if you add a tank bag or BMW’s excellent Sport Panniers there’d be no limit to the social distance you could achieve. With less than 5,500 miles, this bike is barely broken in; enough miles on the clock to insure the bike had its legs stretched over the last few years, yet fewer miles than many of us would ride during a single riding season. Following our rigorous initial evaluation of all the bike’s performance and safety functions, we can say that the previous (and only) owner maintained his machine responsibly. No signs of abuse, neglect, or accident damage of any kind. To prep the bike for a long happy life with its next owner, our Master Certified BMW techs gave it a complete Inspection I/6,000 mile + Bi-Annual service which includes all engine and drivetrain oil and filter changes, valve clearances checked, spark plugs replaced, and new brake fluid installed front and rear. We installed NEW TIRES – Michelin Pilot Road 5 front & rear — which are today’s preferred sport-touring tires. We then filled those tires with nitrogen for longer life and enhanced performance. Of course, we took the bike on an extended test ride to check everything out again; our rider returned with two thumbs up and a big smile. And finally, after passing the Maryland State Inspection with flying colors, we gave it to our pro detailer to bring this already very clean bike up to our meticulous Bob’s BMW showroom standards.
Cosmetically, this motorcycle’s rating comes in between a 9 and 10 (on our very critical scale of 1 to 10). Its few imperfections are nearly undetectable. There is a tiny dent in the muffler and a couple of very small scratches in the paint. These things are so small and insignificant we would challenge you to find them. The bottom line is that any signs of a previous life on this bike are far less than what you’d call “typical” for a motorcycle of this age and mileage. There is just nothing here to detract from the bike’s value or the pleasure you will have in owning it.
