This bike has had just one prior owner. He purchased it new at Bob’s in May of 2015. We’re very pleased to say that it was always well taken care of, regularly maintained, never crashed or abused. And most importantly — it was ridden! With just under 15,000 miles clocked in, this bike has had the perfect amount of regular use for its age. Not too many miles to have caused excessive or premature wear, and not too few miles to have allowed gremlins to take up residence in the dark corners. It’s Goldilocks approved: just right. When this S1000RR came back in trade, our Master Certified BMW technicians went to work to check every component and every system, top to bottom. They fixed, adjusted, or replaced anything that didn’t measure at or above BMW factory spec — and it didn’t need much. Then they changed the engine oil and filter, gave it a full brake fluid change front and rear, and installed NEW TIRES front and rear, filling them with nitrogen for best possible performance and longevity. The bike got a 14 mile test ride (in this case, our techs might call it a joy ride) to make absolutely sure all its functions and performance attributes measured up. Lastly, it was run through the rigorous Maryland State Inspection (Passed, of course) and then turned over to our professional detailer who got into every nook and cranny to restore its cosmetics to full luster. The bike not only runs like new, it shines like new as well!
Is it completely flawless? Well, no. We found one issue that, no matter how insignificant it may seem, we feel compelled to disclose — because it’s not something at all visible, either in these photos or even if you were in our showroom looking with a magnifying glass. Our technicians found that four of the attachment points on inner surfaces of the painted body panels were broken. We think the most likely cause is that the previous owner probably over-tightened the bolts to the connection clips. The good news is that there is actually no consequence. The upgraded belly pan still connects properly and all the body panels still mount securely in place. It’s possible that you would own and ride this bike for years never knowing about the broken connection points if we didn’t tell you. So now you know what to do, right? RIDE IT!
