The F800GT is BMW’s lightweight, sporty, belt-driven, mid-size touring bike, and it appeals to riders who don’t want to wrestle with the size and weight of larger touring models. It’s a practical bike, ergonomically suitable to fit a wide variety of riders, easy to handle, and best of all FUN. The engine is a 798cc parallel twin that generates 90 HP at 8,000 rpm – that’s plenty of power to get up and go wherever you point it. It’s equipped with BMW’s famous ABS braking, too. As we mentioned above, this machine is definitely ready to go the distance. Our Service Team just gave it a major Bi-Annual service which included changing all its engine & drivetrain fluids & filters, replacing brake fluid, and an overall diagnostic checkup. Going further to assure the bike’s tip-top performance and safety, we applied a fuel treatment which is standard procedure for bikes which have been under-used for long periods. Then we installed NEW TIRES (Michelin’s excellent Pilot Road 5, front & rear) and filled them with nitrogen to maximize their longevity and performance. We also installed a new Optimate battery tender quick-connect harness to make your routine battery care effortless. Of course, we’ve put the bike through Maryland State Inspection (passed with flying colors!) and a final, extended test ride to assure that you will have a turn-key pleasurable and safe riding experience with no maintenance worries on the horizon.

 

Cosmetically, this bike doesn’t give us much to talk about because it is in such great condition. Our in-house professional detailer worked his magic to bring its cleanliness & shine up to the paramount standards at Bob’s BMW. But there is one remaining cosmetic issue that deserves mentioning. Zoom in on the saddlebags and you will notice a few minor heel scuffs on the saddlebags — these are quite normal. But there is one other thing here that is not normal: a series of small light-colored spots on the left saddlebag (they’re visible in the photo). We learned that these were caused by leaking brake fluid (!) and resulted in permanent discoloration of the plastic. An attempt was made to touch up these spots, but they are still partially visible. How serious is this? It isn’t. But you should come in to have a look and decide for yourself. We’re quite confident that you’ll be very impressed with the way this motorcycle looks, and that you’ll find you can live with a few little spots.
