Racing Red always gets attention and we’re sure that exciting paint color will get your attention here too. We have a very nice, well equipped, five-year-old F800GS Adventure here, and it’s all set to take YOU to your next adventure. This model is an ever-popular mid-size dual sport because of its strong performance, precise and predictable handling, and versatile functionality. Ride it to work every day, or ride it to South America; either way you’ve got a bike that handles it all with capability and comfort.

This particular machine has much to offer. It was sold originally at Bob’s and has had most of its maintenance performed here as well.  It has had just one owner. It came from BMW outfitted with the Active, Enduro, and Comfort option packages, with features that include: ABS, ASC (Automatic Stability Control), ESA II (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), On Board Computer, Heated Grips, Centerstand, and LED Fog Lights. The previous owner went further to install some additional goodies: BMW aluminum side cases, an Akrapovic muffler, P3 Auxiliary brake/tail light, RAM handlebar mount for GPS, and a Gerbing heated gear controller/thermostat.

Almost all the pre-owned bikes sold at Bob’s have some kind of interesting backstory— because BMW riders tend to be interesting people, of course. But those personal histories aren’t always so easy to see because our bikes go through an intense pre-purchase treatment before they reach the showroom floor which involves a thorough, professional detailing. During that process, most visible evidence of a machine’s previous use is washed, waxed, and polished away. But take a good look at the aluminum side cases on this bike and you’ll see the faint imprint left by the previous owner’s business signage: “Human Organ for Transplant.” So in THIS bike’s case, there’s some history that just wouldn’t disappear no matter what our pro detailer did to scrub it off. (One can’t help but be reminded of Edgar Allen Poe’s poem “Telltale Heart.”) Anyway, we thought it only fair to advise the next owner to expect to have a few interesting conversations inspired by these ghost graphics.

Otherwise, the bike cleaned up very well and looks terrific. The previous owner reported having had one off-road journey that included a little scrape with mother earth. Thus, some small scratches — all on the left-side — on the hand guard, the engine protection bar, and along the edge of the black plastic body work remain as a result. There are also a couple of small dents in the right-side aluminum side case. None of these blemishes are particularly noticeable or unsightly. The paint is all in excellent condition and overall the bike is in splendid shape.

On the maintenance side, we gave this bike its full Bi-Annual Service — a complete diagnostic and safety check, and all fluids changed. Then going further, we installed a new chain, chain lock, and front & rear sprockets. We also mounted a new gear shift lever because, due to the aforementioned mishap, the original one had been bent. Not long prior to trade-in (one year and 1,000 miles ago, to be precise), the previous owner brought the bike to Bob’s for its 12K service (all fluids and air filter changed, check/adjust valves), plus he had new engine gaskets, new rear brake pads, and new front & rear TIRES installed. All of these things being quite fresh have LOTS more life left to give. Finally, after an extended test ride to double check that each system and component was safe and functioned at or above BMW’s factory specifications, we ran it through the tough Maryland State Inspection process.

Being fully serviced and in such great cosmetic and mechanical condition this F800GSA is a Bob’s BMW Advantage Certified Bike. That means that, as its next owner, you are entitled to a service loaner at no charge on your first visit, plus significant discounts on a Tire and Wheel Policy and/or a Vehicle Service Contract from Zurich, and if either policy is purchased, the no-cost service loaner benefit would continue for the full time period of the policy. The bike comes with 2 keys, original owner’s books and the factory tool kit. To prepare for YOUR adventure, contact one of our certified BMW sales advisors TODAY!
