The motorcycle was purchased new at Bob’s BMW and has had all its regular services performed at proper intervals by our BMW certified Master Technicians. In fact, we had just completed a Bi-Annual service on it less than six weeks ago, which included engine oil and filter change, and a brake fluid change, a 38-point safety inspection, and diagnostic check. When the bike came back to us for trade just a short time later, we re-checked everything again, finding that we only needed to make a couple of further adjustments to assure that its new owner will experience the best possible performance. After an extended test ride to be sure the bike performed to our exacting standards, we put it through a Maryland Safety Inspection where, no surprise, it passed. Finally, we turned it over to our professional detailer who cleaned and polished it meticulously.
The bike is in very good cosmetic condition; from two or three steps back, it might even pass for new. If you look a little closer, you’ll see a few minor scratches and scuffs on the saddlebags, a small scratch on the tank just in front of the seat, a bit of sun fade on some of the black surfaces such as the front fender, normal exhaust system patina, and so forth. There are no glaring flaws, only typical signs of normal use — we like to think its just evidence the bike was loved. The mileage shown on the odometer (8,165), on the other hand, indicates that in the nine years or so since the bike was new, it may not have been loved enough! That’s the hidden advantage being passed on to its next owner.
