This R1200RT has had two previous owners who both did a great job of attending to its scheduled maintenance needs, as well as routine home care and cleaning. When purchasing a pre-owned motorcycle, there’s just no greater peace of mind than knowing that the riders in its saddle before you were respectful and responsible owners.
The pro BMW Techs in our Service Department have given this bike a full regimen of critical diagnostic evaluation, safety checks, and a full fluid & filter service including engine and drivetrain oils and brake fluid (a Bi-Annual service). The tires are in excellent shape. Both front and rear tires were replaced near the end of the 2019 riding season, and with less than 400 miles ridden since then, they are still practically new. However, to assure their continued top performance and longevity, we filled them with nitrogen. We completed our work with an extended test ride to double check the integrity of the work in a real-world riding environment, then ran the bike through the Maryland State Inspection, which it passed with flying colors. Mechanically, this RT is ready!
Cosmetically — well, look for yourself — this bike, painted in Light Magnesium Metallic with handsome contrasting graphics, is in great condition! Upon entry, we critically rated the paint, seats, gauges, and controls all a 8.5 to 9.5. The wheels rated a 10! Only the windshield came in lower (7.5) with a couple more scratches than might be normal for a bike of this age and miles. But this evaluation done was before our pro detailer spent a few hours cleaning, shining and fully detailing the bike. Now, from three feet away, you’d think it’s brand new. Get in for a closer look and you will probably notice some typical signs of use such as slight scuffs on a saddlebag lid or mirror edges. (Yes, even bikes belonging to the most careful owners are not immune from tip-overs. Gravity is hard to beat!) And there are very tiny paint scratches in a couple of places. But whatever flaws you might find, you’ll have to agree they are pretty negligible. This bike looks the business and is primed for its prideful new owner to enjoy miles and miles of uninterrupted riding fun.
PLEASE NOTE: A minor mishap occurred since adding this motorcycle to inventory. It fell over (gently) in our showroom and now has some additional cosmetic damage not mentioned in the text above. There is now a small paint chip on the right-side valve cover and some scratches on the right-side mirror housing. You can see this in the last two photos in the gallery which we have just added.
