The 1293cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve four-cylinder rocket offers smooth power to spare for your sport or sport touring endeavors. In our Service Department, this bike got the usual top-to-bottom & front-to-back examination; no component or function was overlooked to assure delivery of a completely safe and reliable machine. We gave it Bi-Annual Service/Fluid and Filter change (excluding coolant which it was not due for). We replaced the grip covers, and importantly, refurbished the front Duolever suspension with new upper and lower ball joints. New Michelin tires installed last year at Bob’s still measured at 95% or more tread, fine for thousands more miles of fast fun.
The bike was treated to some quality time with our pro in-house detailer who restored its appearance to nearly like-new condition. He gets in there and cleans places most of us never clean! Those who look quite closely, however, will still be able to see a couple signs of its past life, which we happily point out because, frankly, some prospective buyers DON’T actually notice these things and we’d rather they be fully informed. So, there are some dirt stains on the wheels and brake fluid stains under the front brake lever that our detailer was not able to make completely disappear. The bike apparently had a tip-over on its right side which you can see by a few scratches on the pannier lid and that the right-side frame slider has a small crack in it — indicating that it did exactly what it’s supposed to do: prevent damage to the bodywork! There is a bit of rust visible on the exhaust collector and a small crack at the edge of the windscreen. We should point out that all these things are typical of a bike with the moderate mileage this one has accumulated, and that none of it will seriously detract from the great impression this bike makes when you gaze upon it. More importantly, NONE of it matters one whit when you’re in the saddle RIDING and experiencing the high performance exhilaration this machine was designed to deliver. We urge you to TRY it.
