In our Service Department, this bike got the usual top-to-bottom, front-to-back examination; a complete diagnosis and treatment in which no component or function is overlooked in order to assure that this motorcycle’s next owner will have a completely safe and reliable machine to ride. In the case of this bike, our crew did quite a bit of work. They started off with a Bi-Annual Service which includes an engine oil and filter change, air-filter replacement, front & rear brake fluid flush and change, and coolant change. Next, because the brake components had reached their wear limits, all three front and rear rotors along with their respective brake pads were replaced using top quality EBC parts. The bike needed a NEW BATTERY so we installed a correct BMW AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) type. Then, we put on a NEW FRONT TIRE – a Michelin Pilot Road 5 to match the Michelin rear tire which had been replaced not long ago and still had most of its tread life left to give. But before we installed this new front tire we needed to take care of some previous minor damage to the front wheel, likely caused by a pothole incident. The wheel had become slightly out-of-round, not dangerously so — and maybe not even enough that the previous owner was aware of it (or enough to care) — but we felt as though it should be fixed before presenting the bike on our showroom for a new owner. We had the wheel professionally straightened and the repainted in the original factory color before mounting the new tire on it. Perfect! Incidentally, we filled both tires with Nitrogen to maximize their wear and performance characteristics going forward. Finally, the little things: we replaced a non-working headlight bulb and, for the benefit of the next owner’s routine battery maintenance, installed a quick-connect battery charging pigtail harness.
The cosmetic assessment of this bike is straightforward: for a bike that’s getting close to 50K on the odometer, it looks awesome! Clearly, it was well-loved and respectfully treated. Its few noticeable signs of experience are well within the measure of what we’d call typical wear for its age and miles. You’ll find a little ding and a few mild scratches on the muffler, a few boot scuffs or scratches around the foot peg area, and a fairly inconspicuous little tear in the seat cover on the left side at the bottom-forward edge. The paint, which is called Light Grey Metallic, is beautiful and glows almost white in the sunlight. Again, only very minor marks here and there suggest its previous life — no glaring blemishes anywhere. Most importantly, NONE of that matters one bit when you’re in the saddle RIDING and experiencing the high-performance exhilaration this machine was designed to deliver. We urge you to TRY it. It’s ready to go right now!
The bike comes with 3 keys (plus extra top case keys), the original owner’s books, and the factory tool kit. It’s a beautiful machine, certainly VALUE priced, and we don’t want you to miss out on it. Contact one of our certified BMW sales advisors TODAY!
