This beauty may be the nicest PROJECT BIKE we have ever offered! The cosmetics are almost perfect; seriously, this bike looks like a new motorcycle. Garage kept, meticulously serviced and with lots of nice accessories included. Here’s the reason it’s a PROJECT BIKE… during its Maryland Safety Inspection we found very slight movement in the front end ball joints. This would not be noticed while riding or even during any routine service, but it is a factor in the Maryland State Inspection. The ball joints will need to be renewed in order to pass Maryland State Inspection. As we are just getting into peak season, our Service Team is too busy with customer-owned maintenance and repair needs to take on this job right now. SO, considering its next owner will need to do some additional work to get it to pass inspection, we have decided to offer it as a PROJECT BIKE — and at a very attractive price! Replacing ball joints is a quite common service item for K bikes with near or over 30,000 miles. Most people don’t notice this until they buy a used bike and then take it in to get a state inspection completed. There is also light weeping from what we believe is the shift control housing cover. That is a quick fix. So now you know. You should HURRY to snap up this great opportunity!

Just a little bit more about the K1300S: BMW really hit a homerun with this model. Those who own one rave about its comfort, power and handling. With a 1,293 cc engine capable of producing 103 ft-lbs of torque out of a four cylinder engine, this bike moves! The added technology of ASC and the effortless quick shifting makes the bike feel like a sport bike — and it will shine if you take it to the track — but with the Duolever and Paralever suspension and its less aggressive riding position, the K1300S proves itself a very competent touring motorcycle too. Together, the full package is a true sport tourer with an emphasis on sport. Other fun facts – 125 mph top speed, 175 hp, capable of 50 mpg fuel consumption, 6-speed gearbox, cast aluminum 17in wheels, ABS front and rear (part-integral braking) and a 5 gallon gas tank. Wow.
So while this machine is a Project Bike, it is clearly in a class by itself. Its lucky next owner will have to assume a little more of the responsibility to get it ready to pass inspection, but especially for someone with moderate or better mechanical talents, is not that big of a thing to take on by yourself.
