The K1300S is a Sport-Touring Superstar, with emphasis on the Sport. Its liquid-cooled 1,293 cc in-line four-cylinder engine provides 175 horses of neck-snapping acceleration across a very wide RPM range while BMW’s exclusive Duolever front- and Paralever rear-suspension assure controlled and precise handling even in the twistiest curves. Here’s the SERVICE/MAINTENANCE rundown. We gave it a thorough mechanical evaluation and safety check, repairing and/or replacing anything that it needed to restore the bike’s utmost performance condition. We did an Inspection 1 (42K) and Annual Service which essentially means it has had all new vital fluids and filters replaced and all scheduled checks and adjustments made. We installed NEW TIRES: Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT, front & rear, we replaced the rear brake rotor and pads, and installed a NEW center stand, a NEW windshield, and a new Battery Tender quick-connect harness. We took it for an extended test ride because, when it comes to checking service work, the proof is on the pavement. And finally we put it through Maryland Safety Inspection for its legal Okie Dokie. All this bike’s previous service records are on file and show that its ONE and only previous owner was diligent in the maintenance and care he gave his bike. That means YOU can be confident this great-running, reliable machine will propel you well into the future without worries.
Cosmetically, there’s really not much to say. As mentioned above, it’s impossible to completely hide eleven years and 40,000 miles of riding, and that shows up here and there with some minor scuffs on the luggage, some exhaust system patina, very minor aging in the paint. Remarkably, however, there are simply no glaring flaws on this bike whatsoever — no dings, no dents, no blems. It was obviously ridden and cared for with the intention of keeping it in excellent condition. And then our in-house pro detailer cleaned and polished whatever the previous owner may have missed, so that the result is a positively beautiful motorcycle that anyone would be proud to own.
