You’re looking at a motorcycle reborn. When this bike first came to us, we debated calling it a Project Bike and selling it as is. Then we took a closer look. Yes, it certainly had a “well-used” look about it, and a few glaring maintenance needs, but we saw that its previous owner had already spent quite a bit of money (well over $3,000!) on it in May of this year in our own Service Department. On that occasion our technicians took care of numerous issues the bike had accumulated through years of deferred maintenance. So, we thought, it wouldn’t need that much more work to bring it up to speed (though it turned out to take another $1,300 investment). Then our pro detailer weighed in to say he was confident that underneath its much-ridden-seldom-washed patina was a perfectly fine motorcycle just waiting to be properly cleaned and groomed, and to let him have a crack at it. Well … to make a long story short, this fourteen-year-old G650GS underwent an intense mechanical refurbishing, along with a meticulous cleaning and detailing, and has emerged miraculously transformed! Now, with a new lease on life, it’s looking for someone with whom to share a bright future. So, whether you need a trustworthy bike to take you to the Grand Tetons, or just to the grocery store, here’s an affordable machine you can ride with total confidence. It’s the Little Engine that Could. To learn more, call 1-888-269-2627 now to speak with one of our BMW Certified Sales Advisors —Jim, Todd, or Kyle. Do it TODAY!
At the heart of this BMW G650GS beats a 652 cc single-cylinder engine that generates 50 hp at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 44 lb/ft at 5000 rpm. It’s fuel injected and has the famous BMW ABS brake system. But there’s a lot MORE with this bike. For instance:
• BMW Heated Grips
• BMW Handguards
• Z-Technik V-Stream Windscreen, taller, wider, improved aerodynamics
• Z-Technik Mirror Extension Mounts
• BMW Luggage Rack
• BMW Expandable Tank Bag
We think you deserve to know what actually took place during the thorough workout this bike had in our Service Department between its first visit in the spring and it’s more recent pre-sales preparation. Here’s the Mechanical Summary:
• Inspection II Service, starting with a top-to-bottom diagnostic evaluation and 38-Point Safety Inspection, then routine maintenance including: engine oil & filter change, air filter replacement, spark plugs renewed, brake fluid flushed and replaced, valve clearance checked, steering bearings checked, along with any other small issues that might have needed adjustment, repair, or replacement.
• Removed faulty heated handgrips, diagnosed electrical issue, repaired the right grip, replaced the left with a new one, and installed a new switch fuse.
• Cleaned out excessive accumulated oil buildup in air box.
• NEW Battery installed
• NEW TIRES and Tubes installed, front & rear
• NEW Chain and front & rear Sprockets installed
• NEW Rear Brake Pads installed
• NEW Instrument Cluster installed
Of course, the bike was given an extended test ride to verify the work we did in real-world riding conditions, and it completed a Maryland State Inspection for its official seal of approval. The lucky next owner will have no concerns as to the complete safety and road-worthiness of this machine.
Important NOTE: When the Instrument Cluster was replaced, the documented mileage was recorded at 48,713 miles. The NEW Instrument cluster now shows 83 miles. That’s a total of 48,796 Miles. As a result of the change of instrument, this bike will have what’s known as a “branded” title. It is a required legal technicality assigned to vehicles where the “odometer reading is known to be other than the true mileage for the vehicle.” This does not affect the bike or ownership transfer at all. The true mileage is duly and properly documented, and all paperwork will transfer to you (or a future owner) without any hassle.
Cosmetic Summary. The photos here portray very accurately how this motorcycle looks. Considering that it’s fourteen years old and has had its share of well-earned experience, it looks pretty darn GOOD! Obviously, though it’s not perfect. Our in-house Pro Detailer performed his usual magic to achieve astonishing results, bringing it from its rated average of 6 (on a 1-to-10 scale) on our initial cosmetic evaluation up to 8 or better on its showroom assessment! But, as you can see, there are still various scratches, scuffs, stains, and other marks left on it that won’t go away no matter what type of magic is applied. No use trying to hide it. Instead, just be PROUD of it.
This 2009 G650GS comes with 2 keys, owner’s manual, and the factory tool kit. Please contact one of our certified BMW sales advisors TODAY for all the details!
