Description
This running K1200S PROJECT BIKE will need some mechanical TLC before it will pass inspection and be a safe, reliable motorcycle for you to ride. But the finish line isn’t so far away, and once you’re there, you will have a stunning high-performance steed on which to proudly dominate the highways and byways. Learn more RIGHT NOW by calling 1-888-269-2627 to speak with one of our BMW Certified Sales Advisors — Jim, Todd, or Kyle. Call TODAY!
As with all PROJECT BIKES we want buyers to know as much as possible about the bike before making a purchase. We’ve nothing to hide and our only goal is that the new owner for each and every PROJECT BIKE feels they paid fairly and got a good, if not great value in the deal. We encourage people to call, schedule a time to meet with one of our sales advisors and inspect each machine in person so they fully understand all the positives as well as the potential downsides involved in the refurbishing process. Please take a moment to learn more about Bob’s PROJECT BIKE program and read our general disclaimer HERE.
Here’s what to expect: The primary service this bike will need to become rideable is a thorough overhaul of the BRAKES: new brake pads all around, master cylinder service and brake fluid flush, and most likely service to the ABS system itself as well. The rotors are scorched from overheating but can likely be cleaned up for further use. There is also damage to the wiring harness at the diagnostic plug, but it is repairable. Additionally, the next owner should plan on replacing both tires, which still have some tread but are well past their expiration dates, and doing a full routine maintenance of engine and drivetrain oil changes, filter replacements, etc. All of the work described above is within the scope of a reasonably well-skilled home mechanic. Or, of course, you could choose to have the work done at Bob’s by our BMW Certified Master Technicians. We will gladly provide you with an estimate. It should be pointed out that the current mechanical condition of this bike is partly due to owner neglect and secondly due to work that was earlier performed by an improperly trained (and probably ill-equipped) mechanic at a shop that wasn’t an authorized BMW Service Center. Luckily, though, there’s nothing wrong that can’t be restored properly to safe and reliable performance standards. It is essential, however, that the work be done RIGHT.
Cosmetically, this bike is not in too bad shape. It shows evidence of its years and miles that would probably be considered slightly beyond typical (perhaps, again, due to owner neglect) but there are no glaring flaws or blemishes. A deep cleaning and good detailing would do wonders to restore the bike’s appearance.
When the work is done on this PROJECT BIKE, what do you get? The K1200S is more than just handsome; it’s also smooth, comfortable, and FAST. The liquid-cooled, 1157cc in-line four, DOHC power plant puts out an impressive 167 hp. It runs like a sport bike. But with excellent ergonomics, aerodynamics, and a host of other performance features, it’s also one that you can get on in the morning and ride till well past your bedtime. Then there’s the great handling, thanks to the BMW Duolever front suspension and BMW Paralever rear suspension, plus other notable features including ESA II (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), Integral ABS, On-Board Computer, and Heated Grips. This bike also boasts a lightweight Remus Carbon High-Performance Slip-on Muffler, and a Tank Bag!
As you can see, this PROJECT BIKE is priced so that even if you paid to have all its necessary services performed, you still come out ahead. And if you do some or all the work yourself, you come out WAY ahead. It’s not just an excellent VALUE, it’s and an excellent OPPORTUNITY! Don’t miss it.
