As with all PROJECT BIKES we want buyers to know as much as possible about the bike before making a purchase. We’ve nothing to hide and our only goal is that the new owner for each and every PROJECT BIKE feels they paid fairly and got a good, if not great value in the deal. We encourage people to call, schedule a time to meet with one of our sales advisors and inspect each machine in person so they fully understand all the positives as well as the potential downsides involved in the refurbishing process.

PREVIEW: The K1200S is more than just handsome; it’s also smooth, comfortable, and FAST. The liquid-cooled, 1157cc in-line four, DOHC power plant puts out an impressive 167 hp. It runs like a sport bike. But with excellent ergonomics, aerodynamics, and a host of other performance features, it’s also one that you can get on in the morning and ride till well past your bedtime. Then there’s the great handling, thanks to the BMW Duolever front suspension and BMW Paralever rear suspension, plus other notable features including ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), EVO Integral ABS, On-Board Computer, and Heated Grips.
Okay, why is THIS one labeled as a PROJECT BIKE and priced accordingly low? Is there something wrong with it? Well, not much really. But here’s the whole story. Or maybe we should say, “hole” story. Check out the right side of the bike. When the previous owner decided to install frame sliders (not a bad idea) he apparently didn’t fully understand the installation instructions before cranking up the hole saw (a very bad idea). So there’s a nice hole drilled through the fairing panel — in the wrong place — to provide extra ventilation! In addition to that little problem, there is some tip-over damage and numerous other signs of wear. There’s nothing really horrible; you can barely tell from the photos. But you would notice these things in a closeup personal inspection so we want you to know about it before hand.
Mechanically, this PROJECT BIKE is also not far away from ship shape. It’s due for some minor maintenance and probably could use two new tires. But it has had some recent service, and as we mentioned, it has passed Maryland State Inspected. We know that there are a lot of riders who can turn a wrench to do the few things this bike needs, and who don’t care that much about cosmetics; riders who, perhaps, go too fast for anyone to notice a few superficial flaws. And so for them, this PROJECT BIKE is not just an excellent VALUE, it’s and an excellent OPPORTUNITY! Don’t miss it.
