Here is a PROJECT BIKE that will let you enjoy riding now while giving you the liberty to postpone any restoration work to a time that fits your schedule. This bike RUNS and has even passed MD State Inspection. Everything works: ABS, yes! Even the CD player and Radio functions as it should. We decided to offer it as a PROJECT BIKE because of a spotty service history and its mediocre cosmetic condition. So, while we have carefully examined this bike and know that you could safely ride it home today, we think you should also know that you could find its numerous appearance flaws intruding on your thoughts as you ride. There are numerous scratches, chips, wear marks such as boot scuffs and other paint blemishes, there is surface rust in many locations, pitting on some of the chrome, age discoloration of plastic parts, and a small tear in the seat covering. All of these issues are relatively minor, but they are visible almost everywhere. The bike was never crashed; there isn’t even any evidence that it tipped over. The poor cosmetic condition appears to be the result of some hard use, simple carelessness, and less-than-ideal storage practices.
As with all PROJECT BIKES, we want buyers to know as much as possible about the bike before making a purchase. We’ve nothing to hide and our only goal is that the new owner for each and every PROJECT BIKE feels they paid fairly and got a good, if not great value in the deal. We encourage people to call, schedule a time to meet with one of our sales advisors and inspect each machine in person so they fully understand all the positives as well as the potential downsides involved in the refurbishing process. We’re proud to have sold well over a hundred PROJECT BIKES since beginning the program some years ago. Our aim with these bikes — indeed, with all the bikes we sell — is exceptional customer satisfaction. By that measure, our PROJECT BIKES have proven to be an overwhelming success. We’ve even taken a few of them back in trade as good used bikes after their owners finished doing all the work and then enjoyed riding the bikes for a number of years.
