We recently offered an R1150GS for sale that was nearly identical to this one. It was in marvelous condition and it sold very quickly. But this one is in even BETTER CONDITION! We didn’t think it was possible that such a pristine example of this revered GS model could exist. With the moderate amount of miles on it, only 32,230, we would have expected to see more signs of usage, but this bike truly looks like it could have rolled out of the showroom for the first time yesterday. Let’s talk about the cosmetic details first. There is a very small rock chip on the front beak, but otherwise the paint looks brand new. There is NO evidence the bike was ever ridden off-road. Even the front forks show no corrosion or signs of wear. This bike looked great when it came in, fitting testimony to the excellent care its previous owner gave it. But now, after our professional detailing — well, see for yourself, it just GLEAMS! The luggage is about the only place you will find evidence of wear: a few small scratches and scuffs. But even these blems are minimal, far less than typical for a bike of this age and mileage.
This bike is very close to stock. (That’s a good thing!) The most noticeable non-BMW part is the windshield. It’s a larger shield by ZTechnik that we’d say is superior to the original one. Additionally, there are aftermarket engine protection bars and a sidestand foot which is larger than stock. Again, these are very welcome improvements.
Our Service Department has done their usual work of giving this machine a top-to-bottom evaluation for safety and performance. They looked at every component and function, and if it wasn’t right, they made it right. In addition to the pro-forma fluid and filter change, they installed NEW TIRES — Metzeler Tourance — front & rear. They also replaced the rear brake rotor and brake pads which were worn below their allowable specs. The integrity of all the work we did was verified with an extended test ride, and finally with passing the Maryland Safety Inspection. The bike has had two owners who both, fortunately, cared for the machine diligently. Now it is in better-than-ever mechanical condition, which means you can be assured of many, many more pleasure-filled miles ahead.
This black beauty is a remarkable rarity that any smart buyer would want to grab while they can. It’s simply uncanny that a twenty-year-old R1150GS could be in such pristine condition! They just don’t come any cleaner than this. ACT NOW!
