Description

This BMW R1100RT PROJECT BIKE is in remarkably good cosmetic condition considering its age and mileage, and though it runs, it will need some TLC to bring it back to optimal condition. When that is done, you’ll have a safe, enjoyable, and reliable BMW to ride for years to come. You can find out everything you need to know RIGHT NOW by simply calling 1-888-269-2627 to speak with one of our BMW Certified Sales Advisors —Jim, Todd, or Kyle. Call TODAY!

As with all PROJECT BIKES we want buyers to know as much as possible about the bike before making a purchase. We’ve nothing to hide and our only goal is that the new owner for each and every PROJECT BIKE feels they paid fairly and got a good, if not great value in the deal. We encourage people to call, schedule a time to meet with one of our sales advisors and inspect each machine in person so they fully understand all the positives as well as the potential downsides involved in the refurbishing process. Please take a moment to learn more about Bob’s PROJECT BIKE program and read our general disclaimer HERE.

Overview
MECHANICAL: We’re offering this R1100RT as a PROJECT BIKE primarily due to its higher mileage, plus it does have some maintenance needs as well. But we should point out that its previous owner rode the bike into our shop when he dropped it off. In our subsequent evaluation we noted that it starts and shifts okay, too, but the idle was sporadic, though it never died. Of course, it needs a regular full service and new tires. Other issues: the radio cassette doesn’t power on, and the neutral light is intermittent. The bike came to us with a long, well documented service history that suggests that its maintenance was carried out responsibly — up until 2016, which is when the bike stopped being ridden regularly, hence not serviced.

COSMETIC: You can see from the photos that this bike looks quite good. Clearly, it has been well cared for, and that deep “Sinus Blue” paint looks stunning in any light. But …she’s not perfect — and would you expect a 26-year-old bike with over 83,000 miles on it to be perfect? Of course not. When you visit to examine this PROJECT BIKE in person, you’ll see that there are light tip-over marks on both sides, such as scratches on the saddlebag lids, mirror housings, valve covers, and elsewhere. None of it constitutes “damage.” These are simply the typical signs of experience any motorcycle of this age would normally have.

FEATURES and EXTRA EQUIPMENT:
• The famous 1085 cc “Oilhead” Boxer Twin engine
• BMW Paralever Rear Suspension
• BMW Telelever Front Suspension
• Shaft Drive
• ABS Brakes

Here you have a PROJECT BIKE that offers exceptional VALUE to the rider who doesn’t mind getting his or her hands dirty doing some fairly routine mechanical homework. If you’re that rider, please hurry to grab this challenge!
