Description
It’s a love story. The one and only previous owner of this steady and stoic Roadster purchased it new at Bob’s. For nearly twenty years, he and his faithful bike enjoyed a great companionship. Every one of the 55 thousand–plus miles they traveled together on roads near and far was a joy. Of course, the bike was always treated like a best friend, cared for respectfully, and brought back to Bob’s for all its maintenance. While that first owner will always cherish the memories he and his bike made together, the time has come to start the next chapter of the love story. Why don’t YOU be the rider who writes it? This motorcycle still has SO much more to give! Visit Bob’s NOW to find out more. Or call 1-888-269-2627 to speak with one of our BMW Certified Sales Advisors — Jim, Todd, or Kyle. Do it TODAY!
All the BMW roadster models — the ones with an ‘R’ at the end of the name — start out as naked bikes. Some owners, preferring simplicity, leave them that way. Others personalize the bike with equipment to suit their needs. As you can see, this R1150R has become essentially a touring bike with BMW Side Cases (detachable), the Givi 39-liter Top Case, the BMW Touring Windshield, MotoLights auxiliary driving lights on the forks. These are all must-have things to make long distance travel a pleasure. In fact, those accessories add comfort and convenience to almost ANY kind of riding you might do. But there’s more:
• Integral ABS
• BMW Factory Option LOW Seat
• Overdrive Transmission
• Heated Grips
• BMW Handguards
• Helmet Lock
And all that on top of the solid reliability of BMW’s 1130cc, air- and oil-cooled Boxer Twin with shaft drive in a chassis that features the renowned BMW Telelever front- and Paralever rear-suspension for precise and predictable handling.
Take a long look at this bike. Would you ever guess it has two proud decades of regular riding on its résumé. No! The signs of its previous life consist only of a few typical minor scuffs and blems you would find on any bike that’s not been secluded in a museum. In the photos you can see some wear on the luggage, and a couple of tiny scratches on the right-side valve cover. Also, barely visible in one of the pictures, are very small tears in the seat cover at the front edge adjacent to the tank. These are, frankly, insignificant but we wanted to be sure you knew about them. Other than that, this bike is in remarkably great shape. Our in-house pro detailer made it super clean and brought out the deep gleam in the Night Black paint that you see here. Better than looking at it, though, is RIDING it!
We gave this bike the usual Bob’s workout: a complete performance and safety inspection, Bi-Annual Service with engine/drive fluids and filters changed, brake fluid service, and all settings checked and adjusted as necessary. We replaced footpeg rubbers that were worn, and then installed a NEW REAR TIRE to match the recently renewed front tire (Metzeler Z8). We filled both tires with nitrogen for enhanced performance and longevity. Everything about this bike’s maintenance history indicates regular and responsible care — a notable plus point being that the clutch and clutch slave cylinder were replaced not long ago. We gave the machine some rigorous exercise on a long test ride, then put it through Maryland State Inspection where it passed without a hiccup. There is no reason not to have full confidence in the future mechanical performance of this versatile motorcycle.
This BMW R1150R comes with numerous keys, the owner’s books and its original factory tool kit. It’s unmistakably a GEAT VALUE. There are unlimited happy miles ahead for the next lucky owner of this bike. To learn more, contact one of our BMW certified Sales Advisors today!
