PURE WILL TO WIN
The assembly of the M RR has been developed in sports racing and perfected for the road. For this purpose we have increased the power of the four-cylinder in-line engine from the RR: For a higher torque in the mid-range. And we have increased the maximum speed by 500 rpm to 15,100 rpm. The titanium connecting rods are lighter, the rocker arms are 1.5 mm narrower, the airbox funnel has been shortened: Millimeter work for milliseconds. In addition, there are 2-ring forged pistons with cross-ribbing and a cylinder head with new channel geometry and reinforced bearing brackets. Overall result: More dynamics and reduced mass inertia. For a shorter ratio, the rear sprocket has been given a tooth and the chain and wheelbase have been lengthened. The slipper clutch works without self-reinforcement – for the perfect launch control.
DESIGNED FOR THE POLE POSITION
Anyone who looks at it immediately understands that this is a high performance motorcycle. Every part of the RR has been designed to get the most out of it. Take, for instance, the frame layout with its new suspension technology that makes the RR lighter and more precise. In addition, there is the ergonomically focused seating position, which is unrivaled thanks to the modified frame and fairing design. The standard LED headlights give the bike a dynamic and aggressive look. The front indicators have moved from the fairing to the rearview mirrors, which not only looks aesthetically pleasing, but it also provides improved visibility. Seen from the rear, the RR dominates in terms of design and functionality: “All-in-one” is the motto here. In addition to license plate lighting, the license plate bracket now also includes LED turn signals, tail lights and brake lights.
READY FOR THE TRACK.
When it comes to top performance, the RR is your perfect partner. And not just on the road, but also on the track. In a few simple steps, you can dismantle both the rearview mirror and the license plate bracket and you’ve got a racing bike.
The optionally available M Package turns your RR into the ultimate racing machine. Here the weight is once more reduced by around 7.7 lbs down to a mere 427 lbs. In addition to the Motorsport finish, the M carbon wheels, the M battery, the M seat with M passenger seat cover and the M swing arm pivot you also get Ride Modes Pro with the configurable Ride Modes Race Pro 1-3 and electronic assistance systems, such as DTC +/- Shift, ABS Settings, engine mappings, wheelie control and slide control and a whole lot more.
FOUR CYLINDERS AND UNRIVALED PERFORMANCE
The newly designed, four-cylinder engine is the new RR power train. Not only was the peak output increased to 205 HP at 13,000 rpm, but the torque curve was also optimized. Thanks to the new BMW ShiftCam technology, which selects the valve opening time and the valve lift by means of the camshaft, significantly more torque and power is applied even in low and medium engine speed ranges.
In addition, numerous other components were adapted to further optimize weight, space and design. These include a new timing concept, hollow-drilled titanium intake valves and an improved and self-reinforcing multi-disc, anti-hopping wet clutch (-20N). The engine is now narrower and about 9 lbs lighter, which improves both the handling and the ergonomics. You will notice this immediately when you first get on.
AN INTERPLAY OF HIGHLIGHTS
• M milled parts & M carbon parts. For even more performance and an even sportier look. Born, tested and proven on the racetrack.
• M Braking System. Developed from the WorldSBK racing brakes. We could have called them amazing. But “M brake” is even better.
• M Winglets and high windscreen. Brake later and accelerate earlier: more stability when cornering thanks to aerodynamic downforce without sacrificing top speed. Because the M winglets provide a downforce of 35.9 lbs.
• The design – clearly BMW M. The basic colors light blue, dark blue and red stand for M and underline the dynamic design language and the racing genes of the M RR.
• M carbon wheels. The high-tech components reduce the rotational masses and to help deliver the highest performance on the racetrack and road.
• Launch animation with M logo. You see what you feel: The M RR is ready. And you?
• Full-titanium exhaust system. The reduction in dimensions due to the weight saving of 8 lbs. immediately pays off with the improved handling.
• Pure performance: the engine. 205 hp, a maximum rotational speed of 15,100 rpm and the revolutionary BMW ShiftCam technology.
TWO VERSIONS, ONE GOAL: PURE PERFORMANCE
Every M RR stands for absolute dedication and the will to perform. In its basic version, it is made for racing – and working on grams and milliseconds. With the M Competition Package, it boasts M milled parts and M carbon parts and highlights the sporty look.
This M1000RR, in Light White/M Motorsport, was born on the racetrack. And that’s exactly where your M RR will take you back again and again. Always on the search for perfection. Right down to the millimeter.
Can perfection be increased? Decide for yourself: The M RR is available as a basic version and optionally as an M RR with the Competition Package. In addition, we offer numerous M Performance Parts to customize your M RR. Many of the parts can be installed quickly, turning your street version of the M RR into a racetrack machine. More Pressure: The M Winglets
The contact pressure also determines victory or defeat. The M Winglets made of carbon generate a downforce of up to 35.9 lbs at 189 mph. In combination with the high windscreen, you can convert more power into pure propulsion. Before the curve, in the curve, and when accelerating out of the curve. The front wheel pulls straight into the apex and the fork keeps contact with the ground; the DTC has to intervene less. And you save the celebration for the finish line.
Uncompromising acceleration – but not the other way around
We have developed the best brakes for BMW yet. We have optimized the fluid balance for greater pressure point stability. Together with the ideally combined operating element and saddle, this results in outstanding brake stability and feedback, as well as superb coordination with the RACE ABS. The M brake is therefore an ideal standard.
