The Suzuki SV650 is probably the most sought after universal Japanese motorcycle in modern times. Often called the perfect middleweight naked bike, it became justifiably famous for its legendary status in the marketplace; considered the gold standard of dependable, do-anything, go-anywhere mid-sized street bikes. (Perhaps rivaled only recently by the Yamaha MT-70, and amazingly, we have one of those for sale now too!) It seemed that everyone was always looking to pick up a nice clean used ‘SV’ because it was a bike you could coax into being anything you wanted a bike to be.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, here it is. Come and GET IT!
This late model SV650 is in great shape. Low miles, extremely clean, no signs of mistreatment, and it’s still nearly stock. That means it’s a blank slate onto which you can add your own expressions. Leave it naked, or customize to your heart’s content. The few accessories this bike has now are tasteful and functional: a Puig dark tinted sport windscreen, and a set of black hand guards. In its two-tone Metallic Triton Blue and Glacier White paint scheme, it’s a downright pleasure to look at too.
The bike has a 645 cc, liquid-cooled 90-degree V-Twin four stroke engine that loves to rev and delivers a credible welterweight punch while doing so. With a steel trellis frame, 17-inch wheels, and triple disc brakes — this version also boasting ABS! — and weighing only 432 lbs wet, it’s a package that makes for an honestly fun, versatile ride. Nothing exotic here, just solid smart engineering that’s proven reliable. And that’s what has made this model so popular for so many years.
This bike had its 600 mile (break-in) service performed by a local Suzuki dealer in Nov, 2018. Look closely and you might notice very minor tip-over damage: a little ding on the Muffler and a scratch on the left-side hand guard. Other than that, there isn’t much else to tell because, obviously, the bike is young and hasn’t been ridden much. Of course we gave it a very thorough inspection and test ride. Results: all thumbs UP. We ran it through the tough Maryland State Inspection process (passed), and then turned it over to our detailer who, as you’ll see, cleaned and buffed it up to showroom-like new condition. With two keys, original tools, and the owner’s manual included, this bike’s papers are all in order. It’s ready for the road. And ready for you.
