In other words, though the bike looks like it’s ready to cross Africa on its way to the Himalayas before traversing Siberia to the Arctic Circle — and in fact, it’s built and equipped to handle such a journey gracefully — there’s no evidence this bike was ever actually ridden off-road! This R1200GS Adventure seriously looks like it’s ready to conquer the world. It is only six years old and has only 18,500 miles on it — that’s still quite young by BMW standards — and it’s one of the best equipped adventure bikes we’ve ever seen. The term LOADED doesn’t quite do it justice. In addition to all the great standard equipment on a GS Adventure, BMW built this one with the optional Technology and Touring Packages which include: Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), Gear Shift Assist Pro, On Board Computer, Ride Modes Pro, TPM (Tire Pressure Monitoring), Heated Grips, Cruise Control, LED Style Element (Head Light & Tail Light), LED Auxiliary Lights, and Mounting System for Aluminum Cases. Oh, but wait, there’s lots more. The previous owner of this machine (there have now been two owners) was committed to outfitting it to the max with premium brand accessories, and apparently had an unlimited budget to do so. Here is the list — and honestly, we probably missed a few items.

So there it is. It’s stunning, awesomely equipped, and it stands ready to take you to the ends of the earth. Just jump on, turn the key and GO! (Well, don’t forget to pack some clothes and a toothbrush. Those things are not included.)
Mechanically, you’ll have no worries. The bike had been serviced faithfully by its previous owners without any issues. When we took it in on trade, our BMW Master Certified Techs gave it the full treatment: complete evaluation and inspection of every component to assure that safety and performance measured up to BMW factory specification or beyond. We did a full 18K Service which includes complete fluid and filter change including brake fluid. The tires it came in with still had most of their life still ahead of them, but we did see the need to change all the brake pads front & rear, plus replace the rear brake rotor which had worn below acceptable spec. No other issues were found. Finally, we took it for a thorough test ride and gave it the final stamp of approval with the rigorous Maryland State Inspection. This bike runs like a top and stands ready for you to take control with utmost confidence.
Cosmetically, this bike will exceed your expectations; however, it has a few very minor flaws that we should reveal — because it’s the kind of information every buyer should want to know and we would never withhold it anyway. There are small scratches along the bottom of the left side engine protection bar that indicate a tip-over either from standstill or possibly very slow speed. There are a few tiny chips in the paint on the surfaces most vulnerable to little stones or other road debris kicked up by traffic; typical stuff. And there is some higher-than-average wear to the seat cover. None of these blems are serious or even noticeable from more than two or three feet away. Our pro detailer did his best work, as usual, and this bike’s gleaming Alpine White paint shines in true glory. The bike is truly impressive.
This R1200GS Adventure comes with two keys, the original owner’s books, and the factory tool kit.
