To a BMW enthusiast, nothing says “Happy New Year” more than finding a great bike at a great price. Check out this beautiful 2013 Sapphire Black Metallic R1200RT that we just rolled out. Mechanically, it’s in tip-top condition and the miles on it are fairly low. But because it has slightly more cosmetic wear than one of our typical Advantage Certified offerings, we’ve priced it LOWER. Wait, do we hear the sound of corks popping? Well, you better hurry if you want to beat the others hoping to be first in line for this celebration! Come in right now to see it for yourself or take a TEST RIDE. When we acquire a pre-owned BMW for resale, the first thing we do is send it to our service department where our Certified Master Technicians give it a total top-to-bottom examination. Every system and component is checked and re-checked. If there is any damage, any part worn out, any spec below factory limits, a loose bolt — ANYTHING not right in the least, our guys will find it and fix it. We’re pleased to report that this R1200RT turns out to have been very well maintained. It had been originally purchased from a California dealership and later moved to Maryland with its second owner who brought it to Bob’s for all its service needs. Along with the regularly scheduled maintenance we performed on it, we put new front and rear tires on it a little over a year ago and they still have lots of wear left in them. All new front and rear brake pads were recently installed as well. And just prior to bringing the bike to the sales floor, we gave it another engine oil and filter change and flushed and renewed the brake fluid. Of course we test rode it. Then put it through the rigorous Maryland State Inspection (passed, naturally), and we can affirm that, mechanically, this machine is absolutely solid gold and good to go the distance.
This bike looks really great. Our detailer did an amazing job of cleaning and shining it. (He’s a guy, by the way, who cleans places you didn’t even know were places!) But we mentioned above that there was noticeable cosmetic wear, so we’re sure you want to know the details. (Please note, we never shy away from full disclosure about such things; we’d much rather you have the whole story in advance rather than unwanted surprises when you show up to look at it in person!) This bike’s flaws are simply typical scratches, tip-over marks, and tiny chips from rocks and normal road wear. Some of it you can see in the photos – particularly the scratches on the right side saddlebag – and other evidence you may only notice upon closer personal examination. These include: small paint scratches on the left side of the fairing and front fender, tip-over marks on the right side of the engine protection bars, some scuffs on the left side valve cover and mirror body, and a couple small rock chips on the headlight. Honestly, taken together, all this is pretty normal wear and tear and nothing to seriously detract from your pride of ownership. In fact, when you stand five feet away this bike still looks new!
This R1200RT comes with two keys, the owner’s manual, and the original factory tool kit. Because it is in such great condition, this motorcycle is offered as a Bob’s BMW Advantage Certified Bike. That means that, as its next owner, you are entitled to a service loaner at no charge on your first visit, plus numerous other benefits.
