Red always signals urgency. But when the color is Ducati Red, that urgency hits the REDLINE! Just look at the naked aggression designed into every line and curve of this bike, aptly named Streetfighter. It sends the not-so-subtle message: “You wanna pick a fight with me? Go ahead. But you’ll LOSE!” Well, this 2012 model has been around for a few years, yet it’s in absolutely pristine condition. Its potential rivals must have backed down before the first punch was ever thrown, because there is not a shred of evidence it ever fought any street battles, despite its pugilistic name. This hot-blooded Italian came to us already looking great, but then after our in-house pro detailer got done with it, you would be forgiven for thinking it had never rolled out of the showroom! Is it perfect? Not quite. Look really closely to see a tiny paint chip on the engine spoiler (not visible in the photos) or some minor heat discoloration on the head pipes and elsewhere around the engine. Yes, we have to admit this machine actually did get ridden (thirteen thousand miles!) but still, a pre-owned bike just doesn’t get much better looking than this!
Here is a little bit more technical info about this Streetfighter that, let’s face it, you want BAD. The bike offers pure motorcycling thrills thanks to its perfect combination of 848 Testastretta 11° engine and its Trellis frame with Superbike 848EVO-derived geometry. Thanks to the superb handling offered by the frame, the progressive easy-to-manage power delivery provided by the engine, the confidence-inspiring upright riding position and Ducati Traction Control, which keeps watch over the power, this bike delivers instant, knock-out riding enjoyment. So there. Awesome L-Twin Desmodromic muscle with brutal, big-bore torque, thoroughbred chassis technology, a beautiful single-sided swingarm, planet-stopping Monobloc brakes and pure, sophisticated class — what more could you want?
Additionally, this machine has been customized with a few juicy add-ons: It’s got slick looking Rizoma Bar-end Mirrors, CRG Clutch & Brake Levers, CRG Footpegs, and OPP Frame Sliders — all very tasteful accessories that blend beautifully with the bike’s sporting design.
In our service department we gave this red bike our usual red carpet maintenance including, first of all, a thorough safety and performance evaluation in which every component is checked for compliance against factory specs. Next, we performed a Bi-Annual Service on it which entails Engine oil & filter change, brake fluid change, and adjustment of all operating controls. We identified that the front wheel bearings were worn beyond spec so we installed new ones. We also gave it NEW TIRES front and rear. Then, after an extended road test by one of our lead techs to double check our work in a real world riding environment, we ran it through Maryland Safety Inspection (it passed, naturally!) to assure its legal certification.
This bike comes with two keys, a tool kit, and original owner’s books. It’s fully serviced and ready to become your best friend. The Streetfighter 848: Aggressive and empowering, yet comfortable and controllable… all the pleasure a stripped down motorcycle could ever offer. With a naked Ducati like this one, that redness you see is a good thing. Are YOU ready to take it to the street?
