This splendid machine just arrived and is already attracting a lot of admiring glances on our showroom floor. Not hard to see why: aside from the obvious fact that it’s very well equipped for any rider planning on some serious adventure travel, this Sapphire Black Metallic bike with its special “Triple Black” finish package is particularly handsome too!
BMW built it with all the extras that make an Adventure different from a standard GS. Those features include a larger fuel tank, taller chassis and suspension, factory cylinder/rider/tank guards, tall adjustable screen, wire spoke wheels, factory fog lights, enduro transmission, heated grips, luggage rack and adventure saddlebag mounts, hand guards, lower bash plate, Integral ABS II, on board computer, white turn signal lenses, adventure foot pegs and brake pedal. Going further, this one also came equipped with these options: ESA II (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), ASC (Automatic Stability Control), Chrome Exhaust Pipe, TPM (Tire Pressure Monitoring), LED Auxiliary Lights, and a full 3-piece BMW Adventure Aluminum Luggage Set with included Passenger Backrest and matching BMW Inner Liners for Side Cases.
But it didn’t end there as the previous owner installed some additional great accessories: BMW’s solid stamped alloy cylinder head protectors, an Akrapovic Slip-on Muffler, a more comfortable Sargent Seat, and the BMW/Garmin Nav IV GPS! It’s no exaggeration to say that this bike is LOADED.
Mechanically this machine runs with all the power and performance you’d expect. It has been totally serviced prior to bringing to the showroom. After making our thorough 38-point pre-purchase inspection, we completed a 6000-Mile and Annual maintenance on it which means that all fluids and filters have been changed, all engine and throttle settings checked and adjusted properly, and all other mechanical issues put in order. We repaired a saddle bag lock that wasn’t working properly, replaced a turn signal lens and bulb, fixed a minor oil leak, and installed new hand grips because the original ones were worn. Importantly, we installed NEW TIRES (Metzeler Tourance) and topped them off with nitrogen for extended wear and better performance. Of course, all this was followed with our final check test ride and a rigorous Maryland State Inspection.
On the cosmetic side, well, you can see for yourself how great it looks. Our in-house professional detailer didn’t have to work too hard to make it look new again. On close examination you’ll see there are some minor tip-over scratches on the left side visible on the crash guards and a bit on the mirror, hand guard and side case. But none of these are serious, really. Overall, the bike is a stunner and won’t disappoint even a finicky buyer in any way.
Being fully serviced and in such great cosmetic and mechanical condition this R1200GS Adventure is a Bob’s BMW Advantage Certified Bike. That means that, as its next owner, you are entitled to a service loaner at no charge on your first visit, plus significant discounts on a Tire and Wheel Policy and/or a Vehicle Service Contract from Zurich, and if either policy is purchased, the no-cost service loaner benefit would continue for the full time period of the policy.
