This beautiful, well-cared-for, one-owner R1200RT couldn’t come at a better time. Yes, we’re living through a stressful period these days, but motorcyclists have been quick to discover that riding can actually make “social distancing” an enjoyable activity! The BMW RT, a model renowned for its comfort, performance, and absolutely pleasurable ride-ability, is simply the best way to put some real Distance in your social distancing.
This bike has everything you need for some serious escape. In addition to the powerful air and oil-cooled boxer twin power plant and unbeatable weather protection provided by the RT’s aerodynamically designed fairing and electronically adjustable windshield, you get spacious, removable color-matched side cases and a generously sized luggage rack to carry all the gear you need. But there’s MORE. This bike was built with all these other great features too: ESA II (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) | On Board Computer | ASC (Automatic Stability Control) | ABS Brakes | TPM (Tire Pressure Monitoring) | BMW Audio System (Radio) with Bluetooth Interface Control | Heated LOW Seat | Heated Grips | Electronic Cruise Control. And that’s not all; it also comes with a new Tractive Rear Shock (designed to function perfectly with ESA II), PIAA Auxiliary Driving Lights, and a Skene Auxiliary Brake/Tail Light.
This machine’s moderate miles (a little over 42,000) place it well below “middle aged” in BMW terms. Simply put, there are LOTS of years and miles left in it for your enjoyment. The bike was purchased new at Bob’s and faithfully serviced here as well for its entire life so far. When it came in for trade we did our customary top-to-bottom safety and performance evaluation. We then installed NEW TIRES – Michelin Pilot Road 4-GT, front & rear – and filled them with nitrogen for enhanced wear and performance characteristics. We replaced a mirror assembly that had been damaged in a tip-over, installed a new left side combination switch on the handlebar because the original was not functioning properly, and we installed the new Tractive rear shock as mentioned above. The bike’s last routine maintenance, a full bi-annual service, was done at Bob’s last spring — less than 1,000 miles ago. In our evaluation, we determined that all the bike’s fluids are still quite fresh. And to assure the ongoing good care of this bike, we are offering a Credit for an Annual Service – good for one year from date of purchase – to the lucky new owner. Topping off the service treatment of this bike before sending it to the showroom, we gave it a thorough test ride, performed the rigorous Maryland State Inspection (which it passed, naturally) and finally turned it over to our in-house pro detailer for deep cleaning and polishing.
The bike turned out splendidly. Almost all the signs of its previous life were erased and thus it’s ready to start its new life with you in excellent shape, nearly like new! It had the normal boot scuffs on the saddle bags when it came in but a thorough buffing eliminated them. Thus, there are actually no cosmetic flaws of any significance to report; there is simply the typical patina of use on the exhaust header pipes. Otherwise, this bike’s handsome Ostra Grey Matte paint, as well as its other surfaces, glow in a way that defies its age and mileage. Riding this bike, you might find that only your pride of ownership could glow brighter.
This R1200RT comes with two keys, the factory tool kit, and original owner’s books. Because it is in such excellent condition, this motorcycle is offered as a Bob’s BMW Advantage Certified Bike.
