Wait? 3,452 miles? On a 2010 K1300GT (German for Sport Tourer)? Only 3,452 miles? This bike is a great opportunity for someone to grab a very popular model that is no longer made and frankly missing from the current BMW Motorrad line-up. The K1300GT which debuted in 2008 replaced the K1200GT. The engine capacity increased 136 cc to 1,293 cc capable of generating 160 hp and 99 ft-lbs of torque. The K1300GT has a large front fairing which is great for highway and high speed travel and creates very good coverage from rain and wind. Many of our regular customers have used the K1200GT and K1300GT models for everything from every day commuting to national travel. It has a 6-speed gearbox, 17 inch front and rear wheels with dual disk brakes up front and a single in the rear.
This BMW came from the factory fully loaded with an extremely bright Xenon headlight, heated seat and grips, TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) on the on-board computer, ASC (Automatic Stability Control), cruise control and the very stable and effective ESA II (Electronic Suspension Adjustment). It comes with paint matched side cases and an upgraded V-Stream larger windscreen. The previous owner also had Hyperlight auxiliary brake warning lights installed and a side stand foot enlarger. The bike is very stock and you can see from the pictures that the bike has always been garage stored and extremely well cared for.
This BMW started its life as a Bob’s BMW Service loaner for its first 3,400 miles and 8 months. It was fully serviced, top to bottom along with insuring that the bike passed the MSI (Maryland State Inspection) and our very thorough 38-Point safety inspection. It was sold to it’s one and only owner in November of 2010 where it was garage kept and just not ridden over the last eight years. Occasionally and unfortunately life sometimes gets in the way of having fun and this bike just didn’t get used as intended which is why it was brought back to Bob’s to freshen up and help find a new owner.
We have gone through this almost new K13000GT top to bottom again. We updated and completed all BMW service bulletins and open campaigns. We renewed the front and rear tire with the very popular Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT’s for high mileage sticky rubber. We also did a full Bi-Annual service which covers engine oil and filter, brake fluid front and rear, final drive fluid and coolant as well as installed a new battery and did our full 38 point safety inspection. Once all that was complete we did an extended test ride and checked all parts (ABS, ASC etc.) work and operate as designed. We received a good bill of health from our master certified BMW technician so the next step this barely ridden K1300GT went to our detailer for a very thorough bath and detail. What came out was an almost new motorcycle!
Cosmetically the bike is almost a ten. There are a couple scratched on the left hand bag. The rest of the bike is so perfect that I was tempted to have the side case repainted but it is the original paint and it doesn’t stand out very much. It’s very subtle and we will reflect those scratches in our overall price on the bike. The paint on the bike is a 9 overall, seat, windscreen, gauges, controls, grips etc. would all be a 9.5-10. The exhaust is shiny like the day it was installed in Germany. Wow. This is going to be a great opportunity for the next owner and it will never be this young and fresh again.
