This excellent 2010 GSA is a model we never get enough of to satisfy the steady demand we see here at Bob’s BMW and the real nice ones like this example rarely stay on the sales floor long. Delivered to its only owner at Bob’s in April of 2010 just six weeks after it rolled off the assembly line in Berlin, Germany.
It is very well equipped as built by BMW as a loaded GSA should typically be. Since it left Bob’s at delivery the first owner had faithfully returned for all the schedule maintenance, the occasional issue like updating the rear wheel flange, fuel pump and fuel level sensor and camshaft sensor all of which were covered under BMW’s 3/36 warranty it has required a little more attention other than regular maintenance, a battery and tires as would be expected.
BMW equipped this one with all the extras that separate a standard GS from the “A” or adventure version which includes a larger fuel tank, taller chassis and suspension, factory cylinder/rider/tank guards, tall adjustable screen, wire spoke wheels, factory fog lights, dual adjustable saddle, endure transmission, heated grips, luggage rack and adventure saddlebag mounts, hand guards, lower bash plate, Integral ABS II plus the fantastic ASC or automatic stability control, on board computer, white turn signal lenses, adventure foot pegs and brake pedal and a stainless steel exhaust system.
But it did not end there as this bike also has a set of BMW’s nearly indestructible adventure grade aluminum saddlebags and the BMW solid stamped alloy cylinder head protectors. And while the bike comes with a set of stock two-tone seats, the next owner will be pleased to know these are nearly new as the prior owner had installed an aftermarket set on the bike shortly after purchase.
And should you need more goodies on this machine like PIAA or Clearwater driving lights, the matching BMW adventure top case, a BMW multivario tank bag, BMW/Garmin Nav 6 GPS set or other fun and functional stuff from the many vendors whose products we offer like Touratech and Twisted Throttle and Rizoma to name just three. Our Certified accessory experts are here to help and always delighted to assemble and price out a package deal for a new customer – please just ask.
Mechanically this machine runs and growls just as you’d wish and has been totally serviced prior to bringing to the showroom. We performed our very extensive and detail oriented ADVANTAGE CERTIFIED Program inspection and a Maryland Safety Inspection so we had a full baseline. Once those checklists were in hand we took on everything required to give a new owner a mostly fresh starting point.
The machine had recently seen other service at Bob’s with an annual service combined with an inspection II plus 12K in mid 2016 and shortly before that new tires, all around the 11,000 mile point. Those Metzeler tires produced in 2012 and 2014, have about 50-650% of their useful tread remaining and we hate tossing good rubber so there’s a great deal* attached to this bike. We just completed a fresh bi-annual service, topped off the nitrogen in the tires and took it out for an extended test ride.
The clutch, gearbox, final drive and engine all feel exceptionally strong and there are no unusual noises emanating from this bike. It starts, rides, shifts, handles and stops exactly as it was designed to do by BMW. The wheels are true and without dings or scratches as is the entire bike. As it has been certified by Bob’s as an ADVANTAGE CERTIFIED BMW it is qualified to gain coverage under a VSC policy that can be acquired at Bob’s, even a tire and wheel policy is available for serious peace of mind when competing with the pot holes and other debris one can encounter on the roads today.
So that great deal* we mentioned a few words back is this: we think the existing tire should last about 3,000 (+-) miles of average riding – enough to get the next happy owner started on enjoying and getting acquainted with their new ride. About that same time we’d recommend an oil & filter change as well. So we’re offering a $275 credit here at Bob’s when this bike is brought back and the new owner purchases their next set of tires here, has them installed by the pros at Bob’s and we also perform a 3,000 O&F change at the same time. Sounds like a win-win to us.
Our in-house professional detailer did not have to work very hard to make this one look new again; it arrived with a solid 9.55 rating on our very critical 10 scale. But we feel it truly looks the part of a solid 10.0 now that he’s done; you’ll be impressed and even the spokes look perfectly bright, clean and shiny. The bags are in excellent shape with barely any of the usual small blemishes in the aluminum surfaces.
This is simply a very impressive machine, one that likely has no peers, everywhere you look and it’s going to be very hard to find a better overall value anywhere in Maryland, Virginia, DC or the surrounding states of the Mid-Atlantic region.
It comes with 2 keys, the factory tool set and the BMW owner’s manual.
