This R1200 GS is a proud example of one of the most venerated families in all of motorcycling: the now 40-years-and-running lineage that began with the first BMW R80G/S in 1981. While that R80 was the iconic originator of a whole new class of motorcycle that changed history, this beautiful GS, with fewer than 13,000 miles on the clock, stands ready to carry on the legacy. This beauty is well equipped, completely serviced, inspected, and chomping at the bit to explore the world, on- or off-road. Climb aboard TODAY and be part of the GS history!

“Leave no stone unturned.” That’s the principle guideline that the BMW Master Certified Techs in our Service Department follow when they check and evaluate each pre-owned bike before it is offered for sale. This bike was no exception; however, in this case the previous owner had brought it to us for its scheduled Bi-Annual Service just two weeks prior to his decision to trade it in for a newer BMW. At that time we changed all engine and drive oils, oil filter, brake fluid, as well as checking/adjusting critical performance settings as necessary. Then, hardly any miles were ridden on it before it came back to us as a trade. So our prep had a nice head start. Nevertheless, we gave it another top-to-bottom evaluation and decided it was best to replace the oil level sight glass and install NEW TIRES — Metzeler Tourance — front & rear, which we also filled with nitrogen to enhance their performance and long wear. Of course, the bike was test ridden as a critical final exam in real world conditions, and as the last step, put through the rigorous Maryland State Inspection to earn its official stamp of approval. She’s good to GO!
Our in-house professional detailer went to work and did a great job erasing most evidence of the last twelve years and thirteen thousand thousand miles. (That’s LOW miles for a BMW of this age!) The bike has been cleaned deep into every corner and crevice, then finished with polish and buffing. The results speak for themselves. The painted bodywork and most other chassis and engine surfaces positively gleam. What remains are just a few signs of an earlier life: typical things such as tip-over scratches on the crash bars (that’s what they’re for!), exhaust system patina, and perhaps a few scant traces of corrosion. Really, all in all, this bike looks terrific and there are no cosmetic flaws serious enough to diminish your pride in ownership. Come in and look for yourself. You will like what you see!
This R1200GS comes with three keys and the original factory tool kit (which apparently is missing one tool). It is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically, and promises its next owner joyful riding for many years and many thousands of miles to come.
