They underpin the dynamics of the machine, and create a powerful, engaging presence.
BUILT FOR TOURING.
Anticipation and excitement are the most beautiful companions on any tour. With the start of your R 1250 RT, you can feel the superior quality of the twin-cylinder boxer engine. Its performance and enhancement in operation fascinate across the entire power band. The ‘BMW ShiftCam’ variable camshaft control system ensures greater torque across the entire power band and boosts your control. Thanks to a larger displacement and more power with more efficiency, your riding pleasure intensifies mile upon mile. The high torque curve and the irresistible power with fewer gear changes quickly become indispensable companions.
WHAT ELSE IS NEW FOR THE R 1250 RT:
Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) — Included with optional Ride Modes Pro, DBC assists you in emergency braking by counteracting involuntary throttle actuation in challenging riding situations. The system intervenes to reduce throttle and increase the braking force. The result is improved safety through the best possible use of the braking capacity to stabilize your bike and shorten the stopping distance.
Standard Hill Start Control — This feature, now standard, makes it easier to start off on hills. With a quick, firm pull of the handbrake lever, the rear brake can easily be applied without having to step on the foot brake or continuing to hold the hand brake. When riding off, the brake is released automatically.
BMW Motorrad Spezial — Beginning in Spring of 2019, you will have even more options to make your R 1250 RT your bike with one of the design-defining Spezial Option 719 billet packs: ‘Classic’ or ‘HP’. Both are very exclusive and high-quality individualization options. In addition, you can adapt your bike with new Spezial Option 719 ‘Classic’ or ‘Sport’ wheels to even better suit your own personal taste.
