1993 BMW R1100RSL

The R1100RSL is one of Bob’s all-time favorite machines. The staff suggested they do this bike for him but he declined. That’s your gain because it’s a great opportunity to grab a fairly low mileage RSL of which there are just not that many to be found. And while this machine does not need that much work he simply has chosen to wait for an all original machine as is his passion. Maybe this is his loss because he really was considering keeping it.

You can clearly see the cosmetic issues in the images and while that will require some repainting work and a re-alignment of the interior trim or left side dash panel we assure you that it’s not a big job and we saw tweaked interior trim panels all the time when these bikes simply fell over in a driveway or parking lot. Both bags have some scuff marks but are otherwise in great shape with both locking tabs intact. There is one good scratch on the gas tank as well. Some people would just enjoy it as it is.

So where’s the great value that Bob saw? Well that list is actually pretty extensive and before we share all of that, in December of 2011 we installed a , replaced a rear turn signal, key matched the saddlebags to the ignition, changed the oil and filter and took it out for a 5 mile ride – it then passed MSI and all was very roadworthy before it got parked in the warehouse. Not too smart on our part but life happens.

But then at 36,107 miles in May of 2010 we did a lot of work and all of it has long term value. We installed because the original had developed a rattle inside the catalytic converter, we also added the and replaced one of the handlebars (don’t see why in the R/O), we did a and installed a fresh oil sender switch. But the real valve is here – we installed a and . That stuff will be there for a long time and the next owner won’t have to do anything. He spend over $4,500 and then a year later traded it in. the cosmetics brought the value down to where the next owner is going to really make out like a bandit.

<span style="\"font-size:" 12px;\"="">So what’s it going to take to bring this home to your garage or parking space where you can address the small cosmetic issues or maybe not do anything but ride the bike until you wear out the tires on it and change the oil every 3,000 miles? Far less than you’d think. It came with the owner’s manual but no tool it. The bike has ABS which was working just fine the last time we had it out. It did not come with heated grips. It does have the factory dash info display, rear luggage rack, adjustable handlebars and adjustable windscreen plus a 3 position adjustable height seat and BMW’s famous para-lever and tele-lever suspension. Topped off with a set of great looking and pretty clean BMW 3-spoke cast alloy wheels. Grab it fast.
