2010 BMW R1200RT

This machine is going to make a touring devotee on a limited budget very happy. It needs nothing, has gobs of extras plus a ton of built-in extra value from the care, maintenance and service vantage point and runs like a bike with 130,000 fewer miles. It was sold new at Bob's in April of 2010 and has been back to Bob's for nearly every service it ever required. And over those miles and the past 7ish years it's enjoyed just one adult owner who took seriously good care of it.
It is not a beauty queen but it is certainly not in poor cosmetic shape either; look over the photos and we think you'll see an overall clean and decent BMW touring machine with some fairly common, but minor marks from being dropped in a parking lot a few times. But it has always been used and maintained as it was designed to be and with a few exceptions, when the only owner it ever had was traveling, it's been serviced at Bob's almost exclusively.  It has always seen regular maintenance and as needed replacements of worn out items which many owners fail to address.
Just 30 days before we took it in trade on October 29, 2107 it saw a full Inspection II plus annual service and transmission fluid change. We also installed a new sensor and center ring, rear brake pads plus replaced the final drive breather vent. In the reasonably recent time frame before that this outstanding example of BMW's excellence in design and manufacturing also saw the following work performed at Bob's: new front brake pads, new front wheel bearings, new fuel gauge, resealed final drive unit, a complete clutch assembly, new clutch master cylinder, front and rear brake rotors and a lot of smaller but important maintenance and service over it's life.
Everything is not new, and yes the bike has almost 160,00 miles but everything is in great shape as you will see if you stop by or make an appointment to take it for a test or demo ride. The bike starts, runs, idles, shifts (up and down), rides, handles, stops and performs impressively. We believe that it should have another 160,000 miles of life, at a minimum, with another owner who will care for and maintain it like the first owner did.
Even stuff like brake discs, which of course pass the stringent Maryland Safety Inspection (MSI) process, look and measure out like they should have 15,000 to 20,000 miles of service life left before needing to be changed based on average rider use and our experienced opinion.
And it's very comfortable as well sporting a barely used set of stock BMW comfort seats in nearly new condition as the custom seats with all the miles were removed. It has alloy bar risers, electronic BMW cruise control,  BMW ESA or the electronically adjustable suspension system, electrically adjustable windscreen, BMW's well established ABS, heated grips and that barely used set of seats are heated as well.
There's also a few accessory sockets, radio software with the BMW supplied audio system, built-in fuse block (under the seat), rear BMW luggage rack (under the trunk), stock fairing mounted and extra BMW mirrors, computer style plug for any electronics, a large and useful accessory shelf with several existing mounts and balls, a easily (quick) removable touring rack which covers the passenger seat when you don't have a passenger which makes it easier to carry more stuff (an auxiliary fuel tank for long distance rides like the Iron Butt or firewood and camping gear if you're a camper) should you desire.
It also has a pair of BMW and Garmin GPS mounting kits, one of which is a key lock unit for added security. The prior owner kept both of his GPS units and had us install them on his new machine but the sales team owned a nearly new BMW Nav 5 unit (our prior sample for demo rides, staff rides on shop owned bikes, etc.) with case and instruction manual that Bob's is adding to this offering so it is as complete as possible - that's a solid $500 extra all day long.
There is a set of rear P3 lights and BMW cylinder protectors on this offering too. And if all that were not enough it comes with two (2) sets of driving lamps - one is a set of Motolights and the other are BMW's high intensity driving lamps. It also has 3 BMW keys, the factory tool kit, BMW Nav 4 manual and the original owner's manual in excellent condition.
And if super pretty is your thing but you see the great value in this machine from all other perspectives we can professionally address, as in remove, fully refinish, paint and clear coat and reinstall both bag lids to perfectly match the bike so the scratches on literally disappear for just $600. We could discuss a few other very minor scratches or finish issues if they bother you, as the new owner as well. We provide this service to customers every day we're open.
