Bob says cut to the chase on this listing, so here's the scoop: It is a 2 owner machine from what we have been told and we have no reason to doubt the story. It just came in on trade and with the exception of needing one tag light bulb passed the MSI/PPI process smoothly and solidly. The bike looks very good, runs great, has a good set of tires with tons of trade left and needs nothing we can identify to just ride and enjoy.
If you look closely you will see that there is a little oxidation on the big Fat Boy cast aluminum wheels, more on the rear than the front, that a professional could probably clan up better than we did and there is a little rust, most evident on one exhaust pipe and we don't know why that one pipe is bad but it is. Any other minor amounts of rust is sort of hidden underneath or on some hardware and the rear rack - look closely and you'll see it but it's not much. There is a tiny nick in the seat on the right side that shows as a small white spot - this too could be repaired easily and entire seats for HD's are pretty inexpensive if you just wanted to upgrade. There is a small very shallow dent on the front fender and a small scratch but the rest of the paint on this machine is in very good to excellent condition. Most all the chrome shows well at ten feet and at ten inches.
It has some nice extras like the HD windscreen, the luggage rack, the passenger backrest, the saddlebags, cylinder guards and riders folding highway pegs to allow one to really stretch out on longer rides. There's even a handy official HD leather pouch on the screen for a few things you don't want in your pocket and if you like to arrive at work with a good cup of coffee from Starbucks or another roaster there's a cup holder too. The BG3 pipes have a very distinctive exhaust note leading just a bit more authority to your arrival or movement in traffic. There also appears to be a nice helping of extra chrome on this machine plus the aftermarket machines grips. With forward controls managing the power and torque this big Harley-Davidson can really eat up the back roads or highways and at night you can just turn on the driving lights and see it all.
It came to us and it will go to the next owner with one key and one alarm fob. This bike is priced to sell and is well below anything else offered on the market that we could find in the greater Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland area not to mention the NADA countrywide average retail of $11,015. On Cycle Trader they all ran from about 10,500 to as high as $14,000 around the country so expect it will sell within days of being posted. So don't hesitate if you are looking for a very solid well equipped Harley-Davidson Fat Boy to own and ride.Color:
