GS Adventure models hardly ever come available used so we were excited when this one arrived recently from the original owner, especially as it had such low original mileage. And it was sold new at Bob's back in May of 2007. It had a full annual service performed here in April of this year just 200 miles before he chose to part with it and then we brought it up to an even higher level of service by taking care of a small final drive leak (seal), topping off the nitrogen in the tires (these are original) and repairing one turn signal, servicing the battery, updating the brake lines and fuel tank fasteners per BMW bulletin and draining the tank to put in fresh fuel as it has been sitting idle more than ridden over the past 2 years; other than that it needed nothing and is a very clean bike.
Finally we'll address the cosmetics. By and large the bike is near perfect and appears to have been very well cared for as we shared above. The bags however do have some assorted scratches on them and they don't correlate to anything we saw on the bike. We'd guess that as they were off the bike a lot they got scratched in the garage or from stuff in the garage. These marks are not gigantic but they are they and we like to be up front. They surely don't affect their functionality and if the new owner is going to enjoy this bike for all it's capable of then some more scratches will get added along the way. We paint a lot of other saddlebags so maybe we could customize these for the next owner and have some fun with a black, red, and or white design -- or not. There is one small mark on the right cylinder guard and that's about it besides talking about the tires.
<span style="\"font-size:" 12px;\"="">As noted above in the intro paragraph the bike still has the original tires, they are dated 28/06 (F) and 24/06 (R) and they are in great shape in all regards but typically we would not offer up an ADVANTAGE CERTRIFIED machine with tires older than 5 years. But we also hate to recycle perfectly good rubber so here's the deal: the buyer gets to wear these out and then, probably in about 3,000 miles when we'd suggest an oil change you'll need new ones. That next set of Metzeler Tourance tires, plus new valve stems, nitrogen and complete installation and even shop supplies and sales tax is on Bob's. That's worth an extra $560 at full retail pricing and $472 at our regular discounted offerings all included at no extra cost. Grab this one before someone else!Mileage:
