Hey, we are allowed to have fun in this business and the nick name for Ducati’s is a duc or duck so what the heck. But there is absolutely nothing funny about this bike. It is the real deal and it is in seriously flawless condition and has exceptionally low miles. There are very few that were even sold at that original $25,000 price tag and there are still fewer to come around as a pre-owned or used bike. Ever. That will never change. Finding a one owner offering will be harder still but this is what we now present to you.
The owner of this one is now eating up different kinds of roads on a new GSA. And while he is thoroughly enjoying that new toy, his old one could be yours to make your friends, complete strangers and the paved roads anywhere around the Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Suburban Maryland and Baltimore region terribly jealous. It has been perfectly cared for, garaged and maintained since new. The number and list of cool stuff that these bikes were built with is nothing short of OMG.
If one had tons of money and wanted to build a sweet bike from scratch you would use the components that are attached to the 1098S; Brembo multi-piston brakes, Ohlin’s adjustable suspension, Termignoni carbon fiber exhaust and Marchesini cast wheels. The very limited edition Tri-Colore paint job is simply the icing on this tasty Italian cake. The rear hugger, front fender and side exhaust protector in carbon fiber are sweet finishing touches.
You can read all about it on the Top Speed website where they provided a very in-depth review when the bikes were first offered and with roughly 160 pounds and a wet weight of just 380 pounds it’s hard to find many real competitors for this incredible machine:
Sold new and serviced at Duc Pond it was brought back to them most recently in October of 2013 for a complete service as well as having a fresh set of tires installed. There was nothing we needed to do besides offer fair money to the person trading it in, send it through our Service department for a complete MSI/PPI process which included a through test ride – yes the techs know they have a hard life and then give it just a little more shining up on the already perfect motorcycle. The only flaw we could find was that one small corner of a factory sticker was beginning to curl.
Two keys, the red card and factory owner’s manual are included as you’d expect along with a current Maryland Safety Inspection certificate and Nitrogen in the tires and even a very nice Marsee Corona quick mount tank bag to carry a few handy items.
He or she who hesitates on this opportunity will be kicking themselves for quite some time if they miss out.Color:
