It has been a very long time since we had a nice, well cared for and clean R1150GS Adventure, let alone one this nice. And if you do a search you just won't find many of these great machines available in any condition, again, let alone this nice. With a respectable number of miles indicating it has been frequently ridden and not stuck in the back of a garage it shows that it was also regularly cared for, washed and had all its regular maintenance performed so that it remains a solid, safe and roadworthy machine that also looks much better than most of its peers on the road.
We just took it in trade from the reported 3rd owner and it needed only a reasonable level of service to be brought fully up to our high standards so it could be included in the Advantage Certified program at Bob's. We did a full biannual service including all fluids, brake service, sync and adjust the idle, we installed new rear brake pads, added a fresh set of the black cylinder guards, a bunch of hardware that was beginning to show it's age and a few small bits including the turn signals that were just rather old looking. We also adjusted the swing arm pivot bearings and then gave it a good bath. This past winter before being traded it received a new battery and fuel line disconnects.
It's a great looking and great running machine and while it arrived without any luggage as the last owner road it around town more than anything else these could be added again should you desire. It does have a very nice sporty and comfortable Corbin Rally style dual seat and a nice MRA tinted and adjustable windscreen. It has the factory style hand guards and metal cylinder protection bars along with a full skid or bash plate and a Bob's wrist rest. There is also a Touratech headlight protector, radiator guard plus a the Touratech telelever protector and the BMW riders information display panel. It also sports the true endure foot pegs and gearbox should you wish to really play off road.
If you closely examine these images you will see a little weathering here and there but by and large this is a very fine example of a very difficult to locate machine. As we were writing this up and taking photos Bob noticed that the grips really could use freshening so they are being replaced as well. It also sports what are the cleanest, rust free set of GS wheels from this era we've ever had attached to a bike -- the spokes and nipples generally rust up or the rims stain long before 9 years and 50,000 miles. Plus it has the big Adventure tank. Grab it while you can as it likely will not be here long!
