Fortunately at Bob's we come across special Vintage and Classic bikes that we get to offer to new care takes or owners. For the purposes of this web page we are calling 1970 - 1995 bikes Classic and pre-1969 bikes Vintage. These bikes are offered in a varied state from full restorations to completely original and everything in between. Due to the nature and age of these bikes they are not offered with a warranty. We at Bob's go though the bikes reviewing them for mechanical and cosmetic condition. Often customers want full detailed histories of bikes and is not always possible but we fully disclose everything we know. What you see on this web page is what we have in inventory. There is a field to click on for special requests and we do keep an eye out for bikes all the time. If you are contacting us from out of State we can prepare a bike for shipping but you must arrange the shipping which can range from $150 for a local delivery to $600-900 for a cross country delivery. On occasion you may see the price listed as INQUIRE, this generally indicates we are still either reviewing or working on the bike and the final price has not been set. When inquiring about a bike please let us know your needs and we can discuss them in greater detail when we call you back. Please email us HERE or call us at 1.888.BMW.BOBS.

1981 BMW R100
Red • 19,426 miles
stock number 240256
$4,995

This bike was an R100RT converted to standard spec and was too cool to make a project even though it has some cosmetic issues with the tank. There is some were and touch up where the removed RT fairing met the tank and a lot of scratches on the tank where it meets the seat, not terrible but visible. The paint is the original Smoke Red paint with gold pin strips which is a really cool fade from black to red. The R100RT had a 980cc carbureted boxer motor, 5 speed 'box, and of course the BMW shaft drive running telescopic forks up front and twin discs and rear disc. 1981 was a big update year for the RT when it received updated twin Boge shocks (this bikes sports Works shocks). These bikes were BMW's mileage and reliability leaders. This bike, being a model conversion, features some very cool touches like a custom oil cooler surround, a Corbin RSTG2 "Gunfighter" style seat, some s/s hardware, billet aluminum fork toppers, a engine turned triple tree, braided s/s lower brake lines, BMW auxiliary volt meter and clock, dual FIAMM horns, and pre-'74 front. We just changed the fluids, did a valve adjustment, installed a new center stand and installed some fresh badges. Want a reliable Classic style bike with a big motor and decent brakes? This is it.

1991 BMW K1
PROJECT BIKE

Classic Black Metallic • 10,157 miles
stock number 365526
$5,795

A nice one owner bike that hasn't been ridden much and needs a good detailing and service. The K1 was produced by BMW from 1989 to 1993 resulting in only 6,918* units produced worldwide. In 1989 the new K1 featured ABS brakes and a 4 valve cylinder head and new fuel injection to extract all the potential power form the water-cooled inline 4. We just gave this bike a full detail, renewed the front master cylinder, installed a new 4-way hazard, new battery, and it passed Maryland State Inspection. Why is it a project bike? More>>

1974 BMW R90/6
SPRING RIDING SEASON SALE!!!
Silver • 93,162 miles
stock number 930953
$6,995>>>>>>>>>>>>>NOW $5,995

This one is a lot of fun and was recently traded on a new 2009 R1200R. We spent some time (and $) bringing it back to it's glory including steering head bearings, reseal of top end, oil pan gasket, and timing cover, new correct style plug wires, lots of misc hardware and rubber. "There is a classic esthetic which romantics often miss because of its subtlety." Robert M. Pirsig, Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance - the R90/6 is such a bike. Plenty of power and torque in a classically styled package. This one features and R90S fairing and really looks and runs great.

In the spirit of the famed ISDT bikes the GS featured a 21" front wheel and high mounted fender and in 1981 Hubert Auriol won the grueling Paris-Dakar Rally on a modified R80GS - a legend was born. The introduction of the R100GS brought, the now renowned 980cc Boxer twin with 5 speed 'box and shaft drive with tubeless cross spoke wheels, the paralever rear suspension replaced the mono-lever and the engine made about 60hp over the 50hp of the R80. Less than 600 miles since a Bob's BMW "money is no object" restoration done with a lot of NOS parts. This might be the nicest restored R69S in the US. It was traded in by a very good and regular customer on a new and very rare R1200S HP2 Sport. There is also a glass obelisk available that has the VIN and model designation that was used to present the bike when BMW Mobile Tradition borrowed it for display. This is a special bike in the large tank, solo seat, low bar configuration. Details to follow.

1962 BMW R69S
Rennsport/Cafe
stock number 811333
INQUIRE

A Perry Bushong Rennsport replika based on a 1962 R69S evocative of the 1954 race bike built very limited numbers for racing. In their day they were 500cc motors with an Earles fork front end. The earlier bikes were very successful and were supercharged. Less competitive when the superchargers were banned the boxers, with their low end torque, turned out to be ideal for sidecar racing. BMW won almost all of the first ten places in the world championships in the sidecar class from 1959 to 1972. This bike is 1 of 1 built in a series of 11 replikas built, no two were identical. This replika is full of goodies, was owned by two very good Bob's customer's and recently acquired by Bob. Bob has not yet decided if it is for sale but inquiries and offers will be considered. The bike can be seen by appointment.

Incredible One-of-a-Kind BMW-EML Sidecar Rig
Silver • 25,849 miles
stock number 040638
INQUIRE

Built between 1987 and 1990 by the amazingly talented Al Vangura from Pittsburgh, this is truly a custom engineered and exciting three-wheeler. It still competes with the most exotic and expensive rigs from EML and Armec available today; if not out performing them in some ways.
More than 4000 hours of thought, engineering, prototyping, fabrication and testing went into this outfit over the four year period it took to bring this dream to the street.
This was Bob’s personal/family rig for 15 years. His son practically grew up in it! More>>

Auction for PBTF
*Only 11,317 R69S's were produced between 1960-1969.

On Saturday November 14th starting at 7pm this bike will be auctioned with the proceeds going to the Ride for Kids and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. We estimate the market value of this bike and sidecar together to be $22,500 in today's market. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity made possible through Bob's efforts and a very generous Bob's customer who purchased the rig here a few years ago and donated it for the benefit of RFK & PBTF. Is this all we have to offer? OF COURSE NOT!
Bob's has always been known for keeping one of the largest inventories of new and used BMW's on hand 12 months a year. Because we sell so many bikes (1 customer at a time) we simply choose not to show you a photo (or line listing) of every bike available and clog up the site. But rest assured we have the new or used bike (and plenty of non BMW's) you desire available, and if we don't have it right now it's probably on a truck or in a ship heading here so it will be ready for you very soon.

Please Note: The mileage listed on each motorcycle is the mileage at time of intake. Bob's offers a demo ride program on almost all used bikes in inventory so mileage will vary at time of sale. Sometime the mileage can be 100's of miles different and while we endeavor to list accurate mileage it is a guide for the approximate mileage on the bike. Actual mileage will be listed at the time of sale.

Bob's wants youBOB WANTS YOU to show us your clean, mechanically perfect and desirable used bikes. We even want your dirty, possibly not run in eleven years and far less than perfect bike too. Regardless of the year, model, condition or brand. Period.

Just TWO requirements:
1) that you have a clear title in your possession, and 2.) you have at least one key to give us. It's that simple.

Our customers are eager for used bikes at every price level. Sure, we want clean, late model bikes, but even if you think your old ride isn’t worth anything, you've got nothing to loose by bringing it in so we can at least have a look and tell you what it’s worth to us. If you can't deliver the bike, we can, within reason, arrange to have it picked up.

Let’s talk about it! Contact Ashton or Bob, either by email or with a phone call to 301-497-8949 (x 237 for Ashton, 218 for Bob) or Toll-Free 888-269-2627. Do it NOW!
