We’ve been saying this for a year. This classic un-molested machine was originally purchased as a project for Bob—he just did not have the time.

Over the past year no less than 50 people called, emailed and came to look at this bike; a few left deposits only to run into financial issues.  It was crazy as with all that interest it should have been on the road last year.

Bob selected to leave the original project description and images up so you can see that text. Now it has become everything we said it would and more and you could own it without any effort---so read about what we’ve done!

Sure the standard stuff like driveline fluids, filters and lots of rubber parts like grips, peg covers and shift rubber have been addressed but we went well beyond and did work that has long term value.  New Metzeler tires and tubes with Nitrogen, a full rebuild on the Bosch starter, rebuilt  carburetors and new fuel lines, a new speedometer and tachometer top cover with rubber rings, new odometer reset knob, Progressive fork springs and fluid, a new BMW battery and a new BMW master cylinder and fluid.

Then the bike was thoroughly tested by one of our experienced BMW Master technicians and then Bob took it out for a ride---he says it runs superbly even up above 80 mph (he didn’t do that did he?) and handles really well through the twisties.  To top it off, Bob decided to make this bike the very first machine to get our most recent reproduction project: shocks that cover all models for the 1970-1984 twins (except GS) so we’ll be installing a full set of our /6 style shocks complete with the alloy covers for the buyer! 

And then there’s the paint—it’s factory original and shined up beautifully. The driveline, rims and just about everything else cleaned up well also.  The period correct Vetter Fairing, Wixom Brothers Saddlebags, Rack Factory Aluminum and Teak Luggage Rack and Reynolds Back Rest all look and perform terrific and just add total function to a great looking, cosmetically original one owner classic BMW motorcycle.
