It’s a special day at Bob’s when we focus on Women Riders. Our past women’s events have been lively celebrations of the special camaraderie women riders share. We welcome three first time presenters at Bob’s, Tiffany Coates, Elsie Smith and Dianne Traynor and two returning guests, Denise Maple and Nancy Oswald. All our speakers will share valuable information, opportunities, and inspiration, each in her
own way.
What a great day and a full schedule we have for all our guests at the second 2010 Women's Day event at Bob's. We encourage everyone to arrive early and hang out with us all day to partake of the friends, food and fun. Get the most from what these exciting, accomplished and experienced women have to share with us!

WE know that YOU know other women who ride (or who are curious about it). So spread the word! Why? Because friends don't let friends miss the fun in store at Bob’s!
British motorcyclist Tiffany Coates is a BMW enthusiast who’s listed in the Guinness World Book of Records as the world's furthest traveled solo woman biker. Even her very first journey turned into an epic. The nine month trip she had planned was ambitious enough, but how it then stretched into two and a half years, crossing four continents, is truly testimony to how seriously Tiffany was bitten by the bike travel bug!
Since that first journey Tiffany has visited many more countries and covered over a hundred thousand miles. Meet her at Bob’s BMW, hear about her cross-continental adventure currently in progress, and let her incredible experiences inspire you to seek your own adventures. You can learn more about Tiffany’s and follow her blog HERE.
Nancy Oswald thinks the longer the ride the better. She's a decorated veteran of the famous Iron Butt trans-continental contest, as well as many other mile-eating journeys. One of the things she's had to learn the hard way is that being able to repair a flat tire by the side of the road can be crucial to a successful trip. Using the “Stop-n-Go” tire plugging system, she’ll demonstrate just how easy you can resolve an annoying situation on your own rather than ending up as a “damsel in distress” by the roadside. Her informative and popular presentation, now expanded to be more interactive, is one that no rider should miss.
VaVaVroom is a women’s motorcycle apparel company making fashionable, functional motorcycle gear for female riders of all sizes. When its founder Denise Maple got serious about motorcycling she became frustrated by the lack of appropriate clothing options for women riders. With her entrepreneurial background she had the skills and the will to launch VaVaVroom so that women would have had an enthusiastic ally in the struggle to find smart and stylish clothes to enhance their motorcycling lifestyle! Denise is a fascinating and charismatic person whose presentations, not to mention her wears, will surely enthrall.
Elsie Smith will tell you that there aren't a lot of women who get their biggest riding thrills off-road. Riding in the dirt is usually thought of as a boy's game, so it's kind of surprising to discover that the person under that muddy helmet is female - it almost seems like a dirty secret! in fact, "Dirty Secrets" is the title of Elsie's presentation. Part of the riding adventure is discovering what's around the next curve or at the end of the road - even on your street bike. So, women (and men too!) if you've ever wondered what sort of special pleasures await you when the asphalt stops, don't miss Elsie's talk!

Dianne Traynor co-founded the Ride for Kids® motorcycle charity in 1984 with her husband Mike Traynor, and created the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in 1991. Dianne Traynor most recently served as the PBTF’s director of research funding and advocacy. Previous roles included treasurer and chief financial officer. Following the death of her husband, the PBTF directors unanimously elected Dianne Traynor president and chairman of the board. We are honored to have her as a special guest at our event. The following day is the local Ride For Kids event and we are jump starting it with a donation from Nicole Regna from Rider Insurance.
With everything going on for Women’s Day, will you find time to squeeze in LUNCH? You definitely will once you get a whiff of the aromas coming from The Wild Dog. We’re very excited to introduce a new food vendor for our Saturday events. You’ll want to try their amazing selection of gourmet hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, and lots more. We did and it’s two thumbs UP! Their slogan is “Our dogs don’t just snap. They BITE!” Is your mouth watering yet?
Get Custom Fitting for a new Schuberth Helmet!
This Saturday, September 25, 2010
This Saturday Bob’s is proud to host the re-introduction of German made SCHUBERTH Helmets to the US market. Schuberth factory rep and fitment expert Dave Webster will be here in person to introduce the amazing new Schuberth C3 Helmet. He’ll explain its many features, help you try it on for proper sizing and take pre-orders too. This opportunity is EXCLUSIVE to Bob’s BMW!
The C3 flip-up helmet is the perfect helmet for the touring rider. And only Schuberth is available in a separate range of sizes for WOMEN! Never before has a flip-up helmet been smaller and more compact than this premium helmet from Schuberth. Through its successful synthesis of sportiness and comfort in conjunction with a market-leading noise level of 84 dB(A) at 100 km/h, it sets new standards. The integrated sun visor guarantees better vision under difficult light conditions. The Pinlock® visor, included as standard, is very easy to use and prevents fogging thanks to the double lens.
Do you own an older Schuberth helmet?
Bob's BMW is proud to offer full service Schuberth repairs for your older Schuberth helmet. We're excited to be the first authorized dealer for repairs in the U.S.! Please note that we will not be able to service an older helmet at this event on September 25th but we will be able to offer this service soon! So check back for more details! |
