Track Day for Bob's BMW Motorcycles

Track Day for Bob’s Customers
Wednesday, July 1st

Nate Kern

For Track Day 2009, Bob's BMW proudly welcomes a special guest: champion BMW factory racer, Nate Kern showing off the exciting new S 1000 RR!

Come to Summit Point Raceway and see the bike everyone's been talking about, BMW's new stunning liter-bike, the S 1000 RR. Champion rider Nate will be there not only to meet & greet and talk about the new bike, he'll be giving a special seminar in the paddock classroom. He'll explain some secrets of high-performance riding, tricks of the track, and other pro-rider tips for anyone who wants to get the most out of motorcycling.

And NEW this year for those who are
Track-Day-Curious...

Maybe you've always had the desire to try the track but just not quite enough gumption to do it. We understand. Well, here's an incredible opportunity to taste the thrill of race track riding -- without risk; without investment.

No need to register, no fees to pay, just show up and get 3-for FREE!

Watch all the action, see the S 1000 RR, meet Nate and attend his seminar, then at 11:30, follow Roger Lyle out onto the track for three guided laps on your own bike! All are welcome; you only need a motorcycle license and your regular street riding attire. Don't miss this fabulous opportunity!

Imagine: No speed limits. No cops. No double yellow lines. No soccer moms in SUVs. Just a big curvy road and no limitations except your own. Sound like a dream? It’s not. Bob's is partnering with Roger Lyle's MotorcycleXcitement Day at Summit Point Race Track in West Virginia to bring you a day of thrilling fun and valuable skill building. You’ll ride your own bike on a real race track where it’s just you, your machine, and the pavement — an environment as free from distraction and hazards as you’ll ever find.

This is not a race. It’s not riding lessons. It’s just a chance to get onto a track with folks you know to work on your skills in a relatively safe and controlled situation. Ride a few laps, take a break, talk about your experiences and what you’ve learned, and then get back on the track for more. You’re not expected to prove anything. There’s no trophy to win. The purpose of this day is to concentrate on one thing—riding to the best of your ability. You’ll be amazed at what it does for your skill and your confidence. But this is important: you don’t have to be a sport bike rider! All types of riders and are welcome and encouraged to attend. Bring your big tourer, your little enduro, or anything in between.

Working together with Roger Lyle's pro staff at Summit Point, Bob’s team of “Control Riders” Lex O'Brien, Darryl Carmichael, and Charlie Goss, will be on hand to assure your confidence, answer questions, provide tips and coaching as needed, and assist in any way possible to make your Track Day SAFE and FUN.

Your cost, if you register and prepay by June 20th, is only $225. After that it goes up to $250. Of course this includes some extra benefits too. Please read on.

Here’s what you get with your Track Day experience:
1. An Orientation/Inspection Session here at Bob's prior to Track Day on June 20th where everything you need to know will be covered in detail. We’ll also pre-inspect your bike & gear for any that might disqualify your admittance to the track.
2. MotorcycleXcitement annual membership and the cool official T-SHIRT.
3. A FULL DAY at Summit Point. You’ll have LOTS of time riding the track!
4. Chilled drinking water and light snacks available throughout the day. (you’ll need it!)
5. Canopy tent and chairs where you can rest between track sessions.
6. A filling lunch at the Summit Point Café provided by Bob’s.

Spaces are limited so click HERE to download a TRACK DAY form. If you have any questions, please contact Lex for more information or go to MotorcycleXcitement.

PLEASE NOTE: All registered bikes must pass a safety inspection. Particular attention is paid to tire condition (new or almost new tires are highly recommended). They will also look for oil leaks, loose or broken parts, and worn or unsafe suspension components, etc. Track operators reserve the right to refuse access to anyone whose motorcycle does not meet their safety standards. Riders will be expected to wear appropriate safe riding apparel that provides impact and abrasion protection to critical areas. Naturally, this includes an undamaged DOT approved full face helmet, sturdy riding boots and gloves, along with jacket and pants specifically designed for motorcycling. Both leather and textile are accepted. Knee sliders are NOT required! If desired, one-piece SPIDI full racing leather suits are available for rent at the track ($75/day).
