Over 100 paid guests attended the recent visual and conversational presentation offered by World Motorcycle Traveler Allan Karl at Bob’s BMW. The evening started with a happy hour during which a fine selection of beers, wine and light appetizers were provided. Allan and the team at Bob’s mingled with the guests, quite a few who were attending their first event at Bob’s and in a few cases were first time visitors. Everyone took in the distinctly visible and recent changes to the dealerships showroom and museum displays.
Once everyone had arrived and received name tags for the evening the caterer served up a very tasty feast with guests being encouraged to simply take over any space in the dealership for their dining pleasure. Counters, museum areas and even the sales team desks plus some additional standing tables were all put to good use. Good stories were shared along with new friendships getting started and existing ones expanded. No one was left wanting for more food or fun and the evening was just getting started!
Following dinner guests were invited to take a seat in the specious service department which had been converted to a comfortable presentation room with seating for all, a large viewing screen, good sound and of course a projector suitable to place the fantastic images Allan used to help tell his story out in front for everyone to easily see almost as large as real life.
It’s difficult to condense 3 years, 35 countries and 65,000 miles into a 75 minute presentation but Allan did just that and thoroughly entertained and enthralled everyone with his images, the stories and a very polished delivery that had all of the guests laughing quite often when they were not slack jawed with awe. Questions followed and as one would expect this led to still more interesting stories.
Following the formal event most of the guests hung around a while longer enjoying either some more beer and wine or some deserts and coffee before heading home. A most enjoyable evening and one that the team at Bob’s plans to do again in the near future. In fact before the night was over Allan committed to returning an about a year’s time to not only pick up the story and share other adventures that he’s not yet shared but to allow Bob’s to roll out the new book he’s working on that will incorporate some world cooking adventures into his travels of 3 years.
